ChkMdl Utility

The ChkMdl utility is copyright by Trevor de Stigter and is released as freeware.

Note: this software will write to your hard disk as follows:

  1. A log file (ChkMdl.log) is written to the C:\Windows\Temp folder each time a file check is performed. Any existing copy of the file is overwritten, so this file will only contain the result data from the latest file check.
  2. If the user selects the option to change the BGL data length bytes then the bytes in the existing .mdl file will be overwritten with the new data. If the user desires a backup, then the backup must be made by the user before selecting the option to correct the length bytes.

If certain of the the default FS98 aircraft (© Microsoft) are checked, the program will report that there is 2 byte length error and there is an invalid word (0x01) immediately before the End of BGL word (0x00). While this is technically an error, do not change the length bytes as M98toBGL has been specifically programmed to recognise this condition in these files.

While I am unaware of any problems using this file I accept no responsibility for any files which are damaged by the use of this utility.
