animation

Hi everyone, Im trying to animate my 3d model however having absolutely no luck, is anyone able to provide some detailed instructions. Rudder, Gear (fixed) aileron and elevator plus canopy & I've started on the rudder, however having no luck.

Thanks in advance

Are you modelling for FS9 or FSX as the two sims use different methods. There are 'canned' animations for FS9 but FSX requires you to create all animations manually.

As Larry says, FS9 and FSX are different. If you're building for FS9 I recommend you see Milton's C162 tutorial which will point you in the right direction.
However, I'm thinking I saw you mention somewhere you're building for FSX, so read the New Aircraft Procedures section of the FSX SDK, Animation System. It's only a page's worth including illustrations.

One of the best things you can do is print out the sections of the SDK you need and do some reading. I'm aware you're also new to Gmax and are learning how to get on with that, so I don't envy you the learning curve but you will get there with the necessary leg-work. :running: Come to think of it, Milton's tut series is an excellent starting point whichever FS version you're using. :engel016:

Good luck!
