Boeing 737-100 Info

Hay guys and gals I am looking for information on the Boeing 737-100/200 fuselage cockpit area so I can build a full size flight sim of it. I've searched the internet with little luck other than pictures and some drawings without any detail. How do you modelers get all the information you need to build an aircraft for FSX without tech drawings?

Any help in this are would be much appreciated and if there are reference material that I can purchase that fine.

Thanks

David

Have you tried here http://www.b737.org.uk/ , its what I've been using for my work on the B737 cockpit I'm working on for FS over the years.

I may have some more information on layout and some drawings at home in one of the manuals somewhere, I don't think they are too scale but look reasonably ok proportionally.

I prefer the older style cockpit but prefer the newer high bypass ratio engines, can't have it all it seems ?.

Sadly I dont have the space for a 1:1 cockpit, but it would be kind of cool, actually come to think of it there is or was a site about a bunch of guys making a 1:1 sim cockpit, I'll see if I can find the link tonight when I get home from work.

I've also got some manuals of the 100 somewhere, I think ?, I'll have to dig through my 737 reference collection to be sure though, too much to list here.

With regards to modelling with out drawings, we guess :), seriously its difficult to get access to many cockpits, though I noted that Aerosoft were actually allowed to measure up the A320 for their recent project, but generally speaking I think most people scale stuff so that it looks right and generally thats good enough for a virtual cockpit, I've also found that exact scaled stuff tends to look odd in the sim due to the POV that FS uses, most people fly with a much too wide angle camera view.

Hope that helps

Michael

David, is this going to be payware model?

Lots of $pay for me. It will be a home built, almost, full size VC fully enclosed and including skin made out of aluminum. I'm going to build it on a platform so if I can find a "reasonable priced" motion device I can add it without much modifications. "HOPE" is the key word through out this project. I've dropped all my other hobbies, sold my bass boat, etc.. So putting all my eggs into one basket.....

Thanks for info from the rest of ya. I think what I may end up doing is buying a model of the 737 and at least have some scale to go by.

And ya Mike I've gotten a few pictures off that site.

Thanks for the offer Ted, if I were not so far up north it could be worked out - Ha Ha

Below if a picture of the VC I have now.

You'll pick up a B737 Cockpit Companion handy enough for the legacy models.:)

Will the sim be FSX based or will you go with FS9?

Take your next vacation up here. We have a 737-200 at the local air museum. Alaska used to fly all in state routes with them. Perhaps somewhat strangely I have not yet visited the museum, so I have only seen the planes exterior.

FSX. I have fs9 but not installed. But the sim I have now works with both so I see no reason I could not use the new one with fs9 too if I wanted to I'll be using much of the same GoFlight Modules except I "hope" to add their new auto pilot to my collection.
