Santa Fe RR in the late 1940s began a startup Air Freight operation. Lasting only eighteen months, Santa Fe Skyway ranked number 5 in air freight carried among U. S. airlines until the Civil Aviation Board refused their certificate. (something about railroads couldn't fly) Although Santa Fe operated DC-3 and DC-4 aircraft, this is to represent what a Santa Fe C-46 Commando might have looked...
