Colorful repaint of Dave's DH-89A

It is hard to believe that the British PBS mystery series Poirot is entering its 25th and final year. I have been a fan from day one in 1989. The episodes are classic British mystery and David Suchet pulls Poirot off with brilliance. This repaint was featured in the opening scene of the episode "Peril at End House". I took several scenes from watching the episode on Netflix and used them as my guide. HEX color codes for Oxford Blue, Bright red, and British White were copied from SimmersPaintshop (thanks guys, your service to me over the years has been most necessary and welcome). The Font is not correct, I had to go with Ariel, it was the closest I could find in my repertoire. Anyone who knows what the correct Font is and where one might access it, I can amend that with ease.

Hi Cazzie, to answer your question, there is no 100% correct font for British registered aeroplanes, the letter sizes, proportions, and spacing are set out in a CAA publication CAP 523, www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/cap523.pdf

It's not a very large document, and there are examples in chapter 2.

Ps Which version of Dave's Rapide is the paint for, IIRC he's up to version 4 now and not all mapped the same.
 
the closest font that I could ever find to "typical" British civil registration markings is also found on Simmer's Paintshop: in the font section, called "RAF_WWII_641ATH". Here's how it came out after a quick test:

Bear in mind that the fontset doesn't come with dashes, so you have to make your own.

Oo-rah RM, I am off to get the Font, will amend. I need to repost this in the FSX forum, where it belongs. I have been in a rush as of late and got my marbles crossed.

NP, Cazzie. I am a bit of a typography geek -- it was my specialty in design school. Suffice as to say I have a LOT of fonts installed (and many more in storage).
 
Many thanks Nigel, that's a beauty. I can tell the paint scheme better through those pix also.
 
not sure at all, but aren't those the colors for the "Royal Flight," aircraft used to transport members of the royal family.

IIRC they were the colours of personal aeroplane owned by King George VI when he was Prince of Wales.
There wasn't a 'Royal Flight' as such back then.
