New A-22LS Foxbat

This Foxbat has more features and animations (besides offering ski and amphib versions). The one thing that looks particularly interesting is that they've modeled the Dynon glass panel that's an apparently popular option on the real aircraft so that in itself makes it worth exploring IMO.

Didn't Rick Piper cover this one a while back?
Yep, that's the one I think most people have/had. I think his was originally done as a freeware gift as part of some other project. . .the details are a bit fuzzy, but I think that was the general idea. I didn't know this developer ever did one so the fact that he's come out with a "NEW" version is an extra surprise, lol.:salute:

I thought I would give it a go in FSX, just to try it out and the external model isn't even visible, lol. It was for about 3 seconds after switching from the VC to the external view, but for whatever reason, it doesn't work in FSX. I liked the "Glass Cockpit" look but could do without the pilot or I guess he's the co-pilot. They always look too stiff and out of place to me. Too bad, as Rick Piper's is actually a better overall model, but doesn't have the variations that this one does (Ski and Amphib). It did accomplish one thing though, get me to reload Rick's and go flying in the FoxBat again, lol.

Rick's foxbat was available at Horizon Simulations, but that site is apparently under (re)construction. I have the files for that one extracted from the installer and then zipped, but I haven't flown it in quite some time.

I normally don't stick betas unless they're pretty special - and this one seems to qualify!

Even though Rick's Foxbat is made for FSX, I couldn't seem to let this one go without a fight, lol. Ricks is a nice model, but the fact that this FS9 "NEW" version had one with "Ski's" and one as an "Amphib" was just too much to overlook (The Dynon was a nice teaser too, lol). Anyway, I tweaked the glass to get it to a nice transparency, swapped Rick's prop for the FS9 one that showed as a solid disc and despite the earlier problem I had with the exterior model of that one version not showing, all seems to be fine now. I remembered this as a rather slow aircraft, but (and I'm not complaining mind you) this new version is rather peppy. It's a keeper!!:applause:
