I have spent several days struggling with BGLTkit32.exe

I keep getting an error msg: "Error loading from file"

I'm guessing it has to do with a missing DLL, but maybe not.

Have any of you successfully loaded this app?

It's a small app for creating excludes. Here is the description from SHOF:

[FONT=Arial, Arial, Helvetica][FONT=Arial, Arial, Helvetica][SIZE=-1]"BGL Toolkit - A freeware utility to quickly view the "Table of Contents" of FlightSimulator scenery files (.BGLs) then resolve scenery conflicts/duplications by creating appropriate "Exclude" files from the information displayed. This utility is primarily designed for users, who have a number of conflicting scenery files and who wish to quickly create "Exclude" files in a Windows environment - which will disable parts of scenery areas which are lower in the FS loading hierarchy."
Requires VB40032.DLL

Thanks Harley.

I have the file. The problem is that BGLTkit32.exe does not execute. It gives me an error msg: "Error loading from file"
And I have exhausted all resources trying to fix it.

Any suggestions?

I realize that you have it ...My thinking was that perhaps you have a corrupt download and delete it and try it with a fresh download from a different site...

I took a look at the file in question, it wouldn't load for me either, but as is the case with a lot of the files on that site, this one was done almost 8 years ago for early versions (FS95) of flight sim and only for use on early versions of windows. Do ya suppose that might be the problem???

There is another program for FS9 called Excbuilder which is actually made for the sim and does the same thing, try looking for that. . .or AFX will also do excludes for both FS9 and FSX (payware).

Thanks for that Falcon.....Yes I would assume that has a lot to do with the problem..I did not realise that.....

Thanks Harley & Falcon...

There is something I had not stated in the posting because I did not want to confuse the problem statement...but here goes:
1. I have 2 PCs, one strictly for FSs; both run WinXP Pro.
2. Initially, the file ran perfectly well on both PCs and I did a number of excludes with it.
3. It suddenly stopped loading on the FS PC.
4. I have D/L'd it a number of times to insure against corruption.
5. It continues to load properly on 1 PC, but not on the FS machine.

I dunno that it's worth all your time...it's just that I hate being defeated by a bloody machine!!!

Oh I see.............

Well then thats different.... That to me would point to ram issues possibly...

Can you run Memtest and see if thats a problem? Or at least exclude that as a possabality then....
