• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

ram the same?

Well its both PC6400 Ram...They have different timings..that can be changed in the bios though..

Your old looks like Corsair..but it must be older corsair, or not gaming sticks

They are both CM2X sticks though......

My guess is that you may have to run all of your RAM at the looser timing rating if the new RAM cannot function at the same rate as your old RAM.

I would bite the bullit and just get a new set ( 2X2 ) for 99 bucks US and be done with it..Keep the old as a back up should you ever need it....

This ram with its CASS of 5 is great...The lower the CASS for FSX the better...

I think that would be a good move, thanks for the advice as always. I sure wish my brain could comprehend all this hardware and software jargon but I am learning (bits) at a time. :icon_lol:
