Spookster's return - Beech KingAir

Good luck for your last leg/legs (two maybe required to get home?). That is quite some pace the King of Beeches is setting (261kts GS average so far!). Little sister Beech can only dream of such speed. See you at EGUN!

Thanks! Yes, two hops from here, and plenty of choice as to where the intermediate stop is (probably just this side of the Alps).

Leg 16: LGST to LIPI

Departing now, and going as far as I can on the first hop, which means probably just short of the Alps. Initially aiming for LIPI, but let's see how the headwinds are...

1h 25 mins - 45 knots of headwind, though thankfully not right on the nose. Managing just 250 knots GS, so we won't make it to LIPI. Probably aiming for LJPZ now, but let's see how the next hour goes...

Well, the 45 knot headwinds relented, dropped to only 10 knots or so, and now are behind me. Range is looking much better, I can certainly get to Trieste (LIPQ), but I may just revert back to LIPI, and cross my fingers! From 17,000 this thing will glide at least 20nm anyway...

Hey Martin,

I read you had quite the hurdles to overcome on this flight. But you are almost back in Mildenhall. Your determination reminds me of another pilot that participated in the LM race.

I radio'd in to the Mildenhall pilot's Launge to make sure you first cold beer is on me.:very_drunk:

I am still in Essendon, relaxing and recovering from the race, while doing some interviews here and there.
It's amazing, the attention this race has gotten over here. All pilots and crew are treated as celebrities, on and off the airport.

Well have to go meet the Major for dinner. Have a great flight back home.

Down safe at Mildenhall, EGUN, and home again. :biggrin-new:

Flight Time: 02:19:02
Routine Ground Time: 0:45:00
Special Ground Time: 0:00:00
Penalty Time: 0:00:00

A nice fast leg to finish with, and I just about managed an average of 260 knots for the whole trip back.

Many thanks to the race organizing team - that was an excellent event!! :encouragement: The Golden Age and Modern GA categories were very different challenges.
