Is there a way to not have the Rebecca antennae's for the Airliner DC-3 versions or is this just an unchangeable part of this V3 Model??

This cockpit makes this already terrific C-47/DC-3 perfect. Thank You for all involved. You can all be very proud of what you have created and so generously given.

They are part of the aircraft model.
There has been mentioned a future version with DC3 features.
We shall have to wait and see.....

OK....after a little digging. This aircraft was not part of the RAAF at all.

It was part of 243 Squadron RAF that was assigned to Canada and then moved to Camden, New South Wales. Australia. It appears that there should be a yellow ring around the fuselage roundel. This would have been to distinguish an RAF operated aircraft in the Pacific campaign/Australia. The RAF -while serving in the Pacific campaign- also removed the red dot from their markings as to not be identified as Japanese...saving them from trigger happy friendlies!

This might shed some light too.

It appears that the decal sheet for that 1/48 scale model is a little misleading unfortunately....

Cheers,
Tim.

Done.

Change the prop tip color

I have been trying to change the color of the propeller tips for a USN R4D in 1960s from the yellow on the front to the proper red-white-red as per MILSPEC 2161 and photos. I changed the propdisk.dds but they still come out the black blade with the insignia yellow tips. The C117D has the correct tips. I swapped out the two dds files but no change. I opened up the model and I see they are in yellow. Can't they be changed without changing the model? Signed confused! Thanks for the fantastic aircraft and panel. I WAS able to change the pilot to a USN pilot with proper ballcap and sage green flight suit in DXTBMP for my R4D.

The file you need to edit is C47_1_T.dds, top right hand corner
Propdisk.dds displays only when the propeller is spinning.

a quick google search

I love a challenge

I spent the last hour or so, loving a challenge at Joe Baugher's complete serial number site searching for possible combinations of the serial XXX790 and even went on the internet to the 179th Air Mobility Wing Site (OHIO ANG) to see if there might be something there. They make one reference to having one Douglas C-47 in Midlands so this must be it. Probably flew it home after the war. Serial number wise, here is the link to:
HTML:
http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1942_5.html
where he lists 42-92790 as a Douglas C47A-DK Skytrain and no other information. If you want to use that serial number on the tail you probably could in my opinion rather than leave it blank, your choice. Otherwise, I tried every other combination in his search engine and except for 44-76790 which was lend-leased to USSR, there aren't any C47's I found with XX-XX790 serial numbers from 41-45.
