Sim Update 8

All smooth, currently checking the install after adding my community folder again. Seems too look and work fine on a first glance (flight).

All smooth for me, though I think loading times might be slightly longer. It could be my imagination, of course.

Downloading now... This is me feverishly banging my head against the wall in a "knock on wood" sort of way, hoping for no download loops: :banghead:

Just a reminder to make sure to check your Content Manager as well - there are numerous large updates there too, for addons including the World Updates, the Ju-52, and the Reno addons (the prop and landing gear door issues with the P-51A are now fixed, as well as the gauge issues with the P-51D "Bunny"), the Carenado Mooney, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a relatively quick download with zero loops. There were six updates in the Content Manager, which consisted of the normal Deluxe Package update (the main update is just the Base package), four of the World Update packs, and one purchased addon (TNCM).

Download went quick & smooth for me, each step, for the first time in a while. However, I'm now getting regular CTDs when panning the view. Never had this problem before. Also some of my key bindings are messed up. Will start debugging tomorrow.

Found my first SU8 introduced bug.

In VR if I intend to use the VFR map or ATC window before SU8 I could move it in my view and close it and it would still be where I put it when I open it again.
Now after SU8 it returns to its default position in the centre of my view.

It doesn't do that in pancake mode.

It went well, but what a round about way to go!

First I was directed to the Microsoft Store, but no Update for MSFS showed up. Here's a hint for others who may have this issue. Go to the lower left in the Microsoft Store to Libraries and click it. Then when the window opens, click Get Updates in the upper right. The initial Update was there and very short, 531 MB or so. Then relaunch MSFS and you will be prompted to install the larger Update, which takes some time. Once the mandatory Update is installed, go to your Content Manager, all the rest of the Updates are there, about the same size as the mandatory Update, 6+ GB. Took half of my evening.

As mentioned above, there was a very small quick download patch yesterday.

Went for a flight in the AH P-51D this morning and noticed a lot of animations disabled in the cockpit. Trims, switches, mixture lever. I'll have to try again later to see if it's an issue and report to AH just in case.
And, the annoying ATC was reading out letter by letter, and I'm sure I heard a few Spanish words. Then I got the, "lost Azure" warning. Then a complete freeze for about 10 seconds, which I thought would result in a CTD, then it just released. Strange buggy flight this morning.

I'll never understand why it has to be so complex, and why can't it update itself automatically, it's a mandatory update after all...
