• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Anyone seen Bomber 12th ?

I have tried to reply to that post and my post has been blocked. Boy that is so fair. My basic message was to contact us at our help desk and why go to such lengths in a public forum? I know why so do a lot of people... my message... put up or shut up.

It's not very nice how you talk about a well-respected member of this community.
Thanks for showing your support to a well respected member of this community, 'bazzar'! (y)

Bazzar and his Aeroplane Heaven creations have always and will always be welcome here (even if he did beat me to releasing the C-119 Boxcar while I was still working on the LDR one)! ;)

this thread has the potential to ruin a line of direct communication and a working relationship with a valued developer. While it is important to have a place to contribute opinions, squawks, observations and so forth about the products and services we pay for related to flight sim, it isn't necessarily a place
to come and bash or ridicule or insult them or the people who make them. You can vote with your wallet, as folks love to say about the open market. Sometimes it feels like a lot of the nitpicking goes beyond 'being helpful' and leans more toward trying to impress the gallery. That said, some folks are more consumed by the total perfection and accuracy dragon than others. IT's just a fact. A developer has to weigh costs, and talent, and time allotment among other critical aspects of their business that the perfectionist at home hasn't a care for. I have noticed an uptick in the willingness of developer related to this thread to address issues brought respectfully to their attention in recent months, with many of their MS2020 products getting updates well after release.
Personally - I always try to remember that there are real people with real world issues and concerns of their own on the receiving end of what I type and that they generally deserve the benefit of the doubt...not accusations of the kind we often see - incompetence, fraud, laziness etc.
Time can heal most wounds...and you can always vote with your wallet.

FWIW I plan to buy the B-25 from AH and expect to be pleased with it after all is said and done...knowing it will be supported and will represent their best effort once the sound pack is added.

There is a thread concerning this issue running in the 'Staff Only' section and I will repeat here part of what I said over there:

"Be thankful for what the developer produces and maybe they will fix any issues after release but it looks like Bomber_12th is going after an unreleased project that still has time to be corrected. Having developed several aircraft for FSX I can tell you the amount of conflicting evidence for numerous aircraft is mind-boggling. When I was working on the Navion project the number of different photos of panels/cockpits I looked at was ridiculous as almost every one was different after years and years of owner modifications. It was really difficult trying to decide which way to go at times so I can fully understand both sides of the B-25 situation. The bottom line is that if Bomber_12th doesn't like what AH is offering he doesn't have to buy it! Job done!"

Not on my watch nor a lot of the other Staff members too! 'Bazzar' will always be welcome here and any unfounded developer bashing will not be tolerated. We've already lost too many developers who used to post here regularly due to members relentlessly bashing products before the creator has a chance to fix any issues.

I'm also watching this one too. Baz will always be welcome here. I'll admit to crossing the "dev bashing" line once or twice with it comes to CS, but even that shouldn't happen here. But I try not to and if it starts in earnest with any developer, I won't hesitate to close a thread.

If you like a product, by all means, say it. If you don't like a product, don't just come in and call it trash - as tempting as that may be. Instead, be specific about what's not working. If a dev has an official support channel, use that too. Saying that an interior texture lacks detail is valid. Even saying that the overall product feels "cartoonish" is valid. Saying that a product is garbage, however, is not, and will not go unnoticed.

I'll poke my head in here because I have spoken to Bomber over the years outside of the Outhouse. I think the B-25 probably struck a nerve with him and I think his comments are based in years worth of research and development on his own projects. Also, I know he has time being around "Miss Mitchell". His approach may not have been the best and it may or will rub a few people the wrong way. I fear we have all fallen victim to that pitfall at some point in our lives. Hindsight is always 20/20! And I also think his remarks comes on the heels of another release that he, and possibly myself, (cough cough MP B-17 cough cough) were a little harsh on.

Basically I just wanted to add that I personally think his "rivet counting" is predominately based on his years of research of the B-25, it's variants, and his work on a full scale flying example. I think we all have maybe that one thing that tugs at our strings. For me, B-17........aaaaaaaand maybe a good twin Beech ;-). For John, It's the 25 and Mustangs..... And Texans... Okay, so anything built by North American lol! I respect John as he is really one of the top warbird knowledge guys in the world and I also respect AH and Bazzar for their decades of hard work. Hopefully, the result is better product in the end.

At no point have we ever received an email from him to the help desk or to any of us about rectifying perceived issues. Rather he prefers to go out in public ( with some inaccuracies in his assertations ) to somehow score points.. As he is an ex commercial developer himself it is bad ettiquette. If the problems are of such an egregious nature then a polite email to the help/contact here would ensure a polite discourse and a way forward. All approaches to him for assistance on projects in recent times have been knocked back. All remonstrations to contact us through the correct channels have been unanswered. These are the actions of someone who has had and still has an agenda against us. I do not, for the life of me, know why.

Either way,, at 76, I am too old for this nonsense and too bored with his behaviour to care any more.

If he is avoiding SOH it's on his part, we haven't run him off 'officially'.

Well, that's exactly what you've done. We should be thankful to have people like John in our community who contribute their vast knowledge. There's hardly anyone who knows more about warbirds. Instead, all the admins here are talking about 'developer bashing', which is ridiculous and totally misses the point.

John would never have posted this if he didn't care about AH or their B-25 in particular. However, the way AH reacts to this kind of feedback speaks volumes. Defending this behaviour is unhelpful and will ultimately result in inferior products. Is that what we want? Poor products because valid criticism is not allowed? If that's the policy of this forum, then SOH clearly has a problem.
