  • Special Server Maintenance

    Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

    You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

    If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

    To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Hi Everyone. I need some help, when you load the Aircraft. It overstresses straight away ?. I slewed it in the sky with realism off and as soon as I set it to hard, which I use all the time, again it overstresses. ?

Any help would be apreciated. Paul

@anels9 it pains me to say this and **especially so if you have included the virtual cockpit**, but if you consult the archived page of Iris 'Easter Eggs 2013' - the source of your conversion https://web.archive.org/web/2019102...light-simulator-aircraft/fsx-easter-eggs-2013 , it clearly stipulates:

Simulator requirements Microsoft Flight Simulator X with the Acceleration Expansion pack installed OR Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold edition with the additional significant remark: All the aircraft feature high resolution external artwork and custom sound-packs. They all make use of the default FSX CRJ cockpit and systems along with the default CRJ Flight Models,

and further if you were to source the original from simviation https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=global_express_vhicv where in the readme https://simviation.com/1/preview-popup?fileId=55584&path=global_express_vhicv/&file=readme.txt it clearly states: "Thank you to Iris for the exterior model and David Hoeffgen/Microsoft for the interior model", in particular noting that the VC is an enhancement / upgrade of the default FSX/A CRJ

Assuming you already had the requisite permissions from IRIS, you'd still be needing the permission from Microsoft, especially as MS FSX/SE is still on the market https://store.steampowered.com/app/314160/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_X_Steam_Edition/ and which is supported by this post https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/iris-easter-eggs.77090/post-796076
To use the aircraft, the customer must first OWN, fsx... thus the license to use the content, so the content itself... is fine.

Accordingly, per the aforesaid, and especially if you have included a converted virtual cockpit from the original source, and notwithstanding that, noting that the source flight model itself being default FSX CRJ, and further noting that FS2004 simmers may not all necessarily have a license for FSX/A or FSX/SE, it is self-evident that perhaps this conversion ought not to have been made available, publicly, for download!

cheers!

Thanks Basil. Basil will be doing some fde and testing help with/for me since he's a real world global express pilot (among many other awesome jets) :D

I had the same overstress problems. The following new aircraft.cfg and .air files make the aircraft preform close to published specs. Try them and use if you like.

"since he's a real world global express pilot (among many other awesome jets"

What ??????? Oh no, please, not again.
Did this user actually claim to you, that he is a real world global express pilot (among many other awesome jets)?

I like to use this panel with the Global express:
Screenshot.jpg

By Jean-Pierre Brisard, Barry Blaisdell, Bob May, Kevin Pardy and Danny Crance - Premier Aircraft Design.
But beware PAD have the following restrictions re-the gauges:

“The Panel files and gauges should not be altered and cannot be incorporated into other
shareware or freeware programs or published on any electronic or mechanical
media anywhere in the world without our written permission. This includes
CD's or other media offered free, whether as part of a commercial or non-commercial transaction.
”

I don’t see the above preventing you from using the panel privately in other aircraft for your own use. But I can’t upload the panel to SOH, although the PAD Bombardier Challenger 604 is freeware and includes the above panel (if I remember correctly).

If you dig around long enough you can find a Global Express EVP mod. :geek:

Download The_Ultimate_FS2004_Global_5000_AI_Package.zip. You'll find an EVP file named BD-700.
Import this file into EVP then edit your aircraft.cfg file as follows:

[General]
atc_type=BOMBARDIER
atc_model=BD-700
editable=0
