Kodiak Released

Sweet!!

Wow! Just in time for the summer season in Tongas and Misty Fjords. Thanks for a great aircraft. I just spent the last five hours flying her and she is SWEET. Love the Ambulance cabin. I found a few issues but very minor and I'll wait to make sure that they are not "operator errors" as I was pretty tired when flying her. I couldn't wait to try it out. The Caravan is a great aircraft, but I've always wanted a STOL with big load capacity that can get into some of the 1200' strips. This is great! :wiggle::jump::friday:

Hi Bill..............Great, I will spend the Easter holydays flying that wonderful machine around some mountains and hope to fly out of them with a Mission......beautiful aircraft amigo!!!!!...Gracias

Side note; For those that might not read manuals.

The new Garmin MFD (center panel) has some new innovations.
* Lowered refresh rates for better frame rate performance
* Map rendering sleep mode (Map menu button on bottom row of MFD)
* Terrain button (night mode) [stock FS frame rate saver]
* Declutter; now available on this MFD, allows you to take out all

dear Bill

Wonderful bird

Some practiacl questions

How do the PFD and MFD(Except above) differ from the EPIC ?
Any solution for the more higher end computer boys for VC resolution except go to 2048,2048s?

thanks

Roland

Hey guys,

Many thanks. I hope you enjoy it and have some great flights in it. If there are any bugs, they will be worked out. All of my projects also seem to evolve and at times grow also.

There will be some Missionary missions that will surface soon. Maury at AVSIM is an investor in the Kodiak's birth and is working with a friend to create a series of Missionary flights that will be freeware downloads.

Hey Roland,

If you are saying that you want 'high resolution', it should already be there. I have a 'Performance Pack' that brings all textures down to standards so that slower computers can run them easier. Otherwise, the planes ship with 2048's on the fuselage, bump maps, and primary 'important' textures.

I can produce a 'Ultra High Rez' package though for the panels. That is totally possible and easy to do. All original Master PSD files are already 2048 size. Let me know and I'll create some for you.

For existing Flight1 Kodiak owners, please stand by or email me at william 'at' lionheartcreations 'dot' com with your sales info and I'll send you keys for the new updates. There is a sales issue concerning updates presently for older customers.

I just got in. I usually purchase via Flight1. Bill is there any special after purchase instructions?

Hi Bill,

Congratulations on release! I've been keeping an eye on this one and plan on getting it as soon as it fits in the finances. It will be the perfect machine for cargo hauling in PNG! Not really a big deal either way, but I am wondering if you included specular maps on the FSX model. I've been playing around with them on some of my latest repainting efforts on other FSX birds and the effects one can do are quite neat.

Hello Hobofat,

Unfortunately no. I do have a Specular for the outer skins, but its a common shared texture. I was already at 74 textures and didnt wish to increase the number several more times.

My apologies on that. It can be fun to play around with what can be done with bump mapping and speculars in FSX.

Hey Trans,

One. Delete the old package if you have it.

Two. Read through the manual basics on the Garmin. Very easy really on the Garmin system. No sub-menu-buttons to get lost in. Note on new MFD features; Sleep mode activated by MAP menu button, and Declutter to lower amount of rendered objects in the GPS map screen. These should help people with frame rate issues.

Three. If you have a slower system, get the 'Performance Pack'. This will reduce all textures to stock DXT3 (FS9) and 1024 pixels square (FSX) resolutions, enabling higher frame rate performance.

I 'think' thats it. :)

Enjoy the USCG version.

Side note; Not all models are linked with all textures. If you want a Model variant to feature a particular texture, you can create a new Registry entry and include the model, texture, and new custom name to it and you will have a new bird entry in there.

i downloaded the high performance texture pack, but haven't check that out yet. i did a short test flight of the standard package first.

Maury at AVSIM is an investor in the Kodiak's birth and is working with a friend to create a series of Missionary flights that will be freeware downloads.

this is EXACTLYwhat i had in mind to use it for!!! when i saw the cases in the back of the red cross variant, i let out a loud :woot:
the dogs weren't sure what to make of that. i may have a new favorite aircraft.

Will certanly have to give this one some consideration; I have been very impressed with my Epic and the level of features it provides. Also the level of service Lionheart shows with helps and updates. Looks like another winner! :ernae:

Saw this earlier during a break at work, but could not reply until I got home...
After an incredible amount of time, effort, and lost eyebrows :)costumes:) the Kodiak is done! Congratulations my friend, you've pulled it off again!!! :woot:

Thanks guys. Happy flying..

Thanks Robert.

Yep, many many eyebrows turned to solid WHITE with this rebuild, lol. Glad she is done.

<--- off to get some eyebrow ointments at the local pharmacy

Really, Really - sweet. I uninstalled the FS9 version due to frame rate issues. I think I'm on the same computer but it's had some upgrades. I have only one flight so far. No Squawks. The Epic was pretty darn good - this could become a favorite in its class - mid-range modern GA. Very well done.

Beautiful piece of work Bill, your best yet! :applause::applause::applause:
