Yes Saratoga Baby Is Definitely Out

Painting is a lot easier when the mapping is done correctly!

GAH Come on Carenado! :blind:

I don't know if I should continue painting or wait and see if they can fix the mapping problems. I don't know who their beta testers are, but...

EDIT: haha CODY, I'm finding these problems now too!

I wouldn't wait for them to fix the mapping....:isadizzy:
That goes a little deeper than a quick fix..
Also I'm gonna try 2048 or 4096 on the paints to see if I can get away from the 'Jaggies'....

Oh I know, but its far from impossible. In fact, from past beta experiences, it can be done rather timely. I really don't want to release a paint and then have it obliterated by a fix, lol.

Give us a mesh as a layer...and shadow layers...Please....But they have been this way for years....

Wise - a bit like the Cera 412

I love the sound on this - just had a hard landing and the bump and rumble reminded me of the times in real pipers

Hi Gajit,
Thanks. I posted before looking at the beginning threads...like a true knucklehead.
I wonder what the deal is? I have never seen this before, on any plane.
Nice plane though.

Pitching up?

Is it just me or does this Saratoga like to pitch up like that? Here I am, in "straight and level" flight at 12,000 ft cruising altitude above Tongass (Alt Hold mode), with the nose pitched up about 4 degrees from horizontal. Is this normal?

I've found every single Carenado piper a/c a little too slow in cruise but climbs like a beast, and in level flight at normal power settings looking as if in a climb. Its as if they took the piper sitting on the ground and then made it level attitude in flight. Anyone familiar with Pipers can see they sit pitched up on the ground but in flight, no where near that, very level in attitude. And their Arrow IV is very slow and again unless I get it into a dive and up to 170 knots then it has the proper pitch for level flight. Really has turned me away.

Airspeed is airspeed into wind or down wind so you would expect the pitch to be the same in still air. Got to admit that in all my time flying flying a variety of pipers i never took em to 12,000 -rarely over 5000. Did go above that in a Meridian with a colleague but that was belting along at 200kts!!

Now the million dollar question...

Who out there knows how to "add" a turbo to this baby? What CFG and or AIR modifications would need to be made? I guess it is time to study the turbo baron vs the stock one...

Haha i have no key either been using a screw driver :icon_lol::mixedsmi:
The painting is hard for some reason the tail goes mirror took me a few hours to put 3 lines down the fuse and the tail got me bushed:monkies:
and i dont like 32 bit textures to slow to load :(
