Captain Sim KC-767 add-on released...

ColoKent

SOH-CM-2025
Just wondered if anyone has purchased the KC-767 add on from Capt Sim, and what their experience with it has been...(quality of the visual model, framerates. etc.).

..it's tempting-- especially with a repaint kit included!

I'm trying to write a review of the B76 and have just received the KC pack download by e-mail from CS, but haven't had chance to test it yet. I have been testing the main pack and the already released add-ons, which have resulted in my finding a few minor issues and one fairly major one (final approach is... interesting... on an ILS) and overall it's been pretty good so far.

I want to get a whole bunch of testing done this weekend if possible.

Okay...

....I'll hold off until I see your review (I'm going on the road for a week anyway, so I won't be able to fire up FSX until I get back....

I can sum it up by "If you like the B757, you'll like this, they're very similar, but the autopilot ILS needs a tech to look at it, preferably with a big hammer". ;)

Obviously the full review will be longer than that!

If CLS are to their normal standard then it won't be anywhere near as technically complex or complete as the CS one, but will be more suited to those who don't want or care about the systems anyway.

Out of interest, you don't have to fly long haul to use a B767... British Airways and Air France both use their -300s for London Heathrow to Paris Charles de Gaulle several times a day. The trip takes less than an hour, but it would take rather more than one smaller aircraft per trip for the passenger numbers.

It's the tanker part....

....I want. In reality, I wish someone would build an FSX EC-135 Airborne Command Post! (I would even settle for a well-done E-6B TACAMO). I know HJG has done both, but both have texture issues in FSX, and it's time for a new EC-135C!!!!

Yep and with tanker I can do as short as I want and still be realistic.. maybe worth waiting for their christmas sale...:jump:

Except that you need the base packs to use the add-on packs... So you can't just have the tanker, you'd need the -300 base pack first (at least if you want any panels, sound, functionality...)

If its a 767 its getting bought and hangered in its special hanger right next to my Lionheart specials and 737 Barn. I just gotta put on the Maple leafs to the Gas Can and I'll post my comments on this KC-767. Im really waiting for the release of the AWACS 767.

I would be interested in the Frames on this bird -

I'm a big fan of the Captain - Especially the 727 & C-130 -

757 is a Crusher on Frames - How is this compared external and Internal ?

Right now It is a Toss up between the 767 and the Coolsky Super 80 -

Cheers,

It's pretty much the same VC as the B757, so although I've not done a direct comparison yet, I'd say the frames would be very similar. The B767 has the WX Radar, which the B757 doesn't.

Hi Ian,

Thanks I figured this would be the case -

Anyways the Fever was to great - I jumped in head first - The Tanker was to much - It kept saying Buyme, Buyme - I saw F-18 and F-14 Refuels scenarios in me head !!

Mr. Kent "ColoKent,"

I just made a post on CaptainSim's forums for requested features just the day before its release... Guess I'll have to wait for those to be included in another SP; Go Figures.:icon_lol:

Love the aircraft (models) and will definitely be getting it after the package is completed and SP'ed; Thanks for the info. :wavey:

Hi James, Thanks-I have not tested yet, but would be fun to get the KC to refuel as an AI -

Hi Ian,

I had a Similar problem with 767 during ILS Approach it would sway real bad to the left and right and roll, however i did see on the Captain Forums a fix for the Aircraft Config File, Placed it in there and did a quick flight form KSLC to KPDX - got me landing on RWY10L - ILS was rock Solid after the Config Changes -

Hi folks...

Yes, I've tried a couple of the fixes on the forums, but being a review, I still have to mention it as a fault because all the work so far on it has been unofficial.

I believe it's the Aerosoft F-16 that lets you refuel from any AI airliner... If so, should be easy to set the KC767 up on a quick route between, say, two Italian airbases and take an Italian F-16 up to tank from it?

I have been real curious about this bird. How do you control the boom and drouge system as far as extending and retracting them? Is it an exit control, tailhook/water rudder, or just a switch like the KC-130 they have?

Mr. "Merlin216,"

Have you seen the FREE Manual?
PART1, in particular; look at page 31 ... It'll show you how it is done.
Enjoy! :wavey:
