If you knew a thermonuclear holocaust would occur in precisely 10 years from now and no one would survive it, how would you change you present life?
 
I wouldn't worry so much about whether the path I take in school will affect job availability later in life (I would change to an degree in visual arts). I would make plans to see as much of the world as possible. Japan, Switzerland, Germany, and the Patagonia region of South America are my top destinations. Maybe join the Peace Corps or something... This is all assuming I am the only one who knows.

interesting question. I'd be turning 71 (human years....about 12 doggy- style).
I'd probably go back to the way I was during my "sex, drugs, and rock & roll" days..........(last week)

I would drop everything i have running, quit this place and move to the Woman i want to be with.
And then Be very active in my life, in every way i can. Work harder, travel more often, have more fun.

...also have more Sex. Moch more. - but being careful not to create new life, wich then later hast to brutally come to an end.
 
Try to cut out sleeping altogether...
After ten years of this you'd be something of a wreck, but you'd go out fizzing, and score effectively 3 on the way!
 
An interesting question Cloud9Gal...

I would try to see some parts of the world I had always wanted to see, like England, Germany, Italy. Have to see them before they are gone... Go for my pilots license.

I was thinking of time and how many years we have in life the other day. Life is really radically short. We dont realise it. If we live about 40 to 80 years, thats only 40 to 80 laps around the sun, 40 to 80 Christmas days.. Thats it. How time flies.

I was also (on that day) thinking of the movie Ground Hog Day with Bill Murray. He kept reliving that day over and over for perhaps a year? He did so many things, learning the piano, helping people, reading books, doing this, doing that, dancing, singing, lolol... His last day was incredible. All those things in just perhaps 15 or 19 hours... Imagine if you lived every day like that guy.

It would take a tremendous amount of energy and ambition though. Goodness....

C9G, this is a very interesting question, I am not sure I would really change that much to be honest, I would try to spend more time with those whose company I enjoy but not much else I really want to change.

I am not all that concerned one way or another for myself, I have enjoyed life so far, and consider my self VERY luck, I have travelled to the places I most wanted to visit, and always stayed on the right side of the law. To be honest I have never thought I would live to make 50 (the men in my family seem to die fairly young) so I am content.

I have had my share of medical "Issues" and I look back at it all as a learning experience, I think it has helped me appreciate the important things and put my life in perspective. I kind of live by a simple motto "If it feels good Do It, If it hurts just let it lie" (Jerry Reid had a great tune there). My only big remaining desire in life is to die before my kids, because a parent should never ever have to bury their children!
 
I am fine as is I think......

My hands are tied anyway...
 
An interesting question, C9Gal.

I believe most of us are actually kind and caring people at heart. It is fear which drives us to be selfish, suspicious, greedy, etc. Knowing the day of your death would remove many of those fears. What need do you have to accumulate more and more, money, toys, and other possessions, if you will be dead in 10 years.

So, I think I would make an effort to live each day enjoying people and making their days happier. I would hope to enjoy more sunrises and sunsets. Kiss and lose myself in the face of an innocent child. Spend more quality time with those that I love and, befriend, even if only for a short while, strangers.

That would be my wish for my last days.
 
well, i'd love to spend more time with my grandson, and more time with my wife. that's what my heart says.

the rest of me says priority #1 would be spending more time on my knees
 
Ten years? Well, I would finally go finish my Private Pilot's license course. Never got past the third lesson, because that particular year, I had to give the f&%*ing IRS more money than had expected; and never went back to taking lessons. That's when I started with flight simulation!
 
Philosophical questions this early on a Saturday, ouch, lol. Hmmmmmmmmmm. I've seen most of the world except for Antarctica, so I guess if I really get down to it, I'd take my wife and daughter to a cabin in the woods and spend the rest of my days with the ones I love. That's selfish, as my wife and daughter would have to be consulted prior to any decision like this.

Actually, a great discussion! I wonder what my family would answer to this?

I've done a lot of fun and interesting things in this life so I'd like to just continue with what I've been doing for the last eight years since I graduated from college. Mostly just being with the wife, and messing with the horses. My kids are pretty scattered out but I'd like to spend more time with them too.
