Anthony Releases Freeware Tiger Moth!!

I don't fly biplanes often, but this one is simply f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c.

Frequent Flyer... Enjoying Ant's Aussie Airfields... In Ant's Tiger Moth :jawdrop:

Ok, can whomever still has a problem with it still (as per the posts above) raise their hand and I will ask Anthony if he has any ideas :)

Thanks Anthony very much for a fine airplane. It shows a new excellent talent, with the patience to get it right and with significant detail.

Besides the excellent exterior model and interior VC one is treated with details such as ribbed wings, realistic cables, hose, rigging, door locks and luggage area internals and fasteners.

The paints are very well done, and reflections do not obliterate the paint detail.

I like the little spring loaded airspeed indicator on the left wing strut, a nice additon.

Occupants may not be for everyone, but to me they add a great deal to this planes realism. The leather jackets and hats seem very much in keeping with this plane. Seldom have I seen such realistic occupants, and good looking ones besides. The pilot sports a barely detectable 5 o'clock shadow and the lady passenger, although devoid of any other female
attributes has a beautiful face even behind those big goggles.

Congratulations on a very successful project.

I had to install FSX for other reasons...
Now I have one to fly in it too..

Great job Anthony!
(it does make me wonder why, if he can do this on the first try, where all the other freeware is in FSX...)

Rob

I had an issue that if I chose the all yellow trainer Tiger Moth VHDHA first and then after some flying time tried to choose a different Moth scheme it would always return the same paint, ie the all yellow one.
The texture folder (called just "texture") for the yellow trainer has a different texture.cfg inside. Replacing it with a .cfg from one of the other texture folders cured the issue.

Sorry to hear some are having problems with the animation manager. I'm not sure why you guys are having problems. It doesn't appear to be acceleration/OS or DX9/DX10 related though.

Attached is a picture of how it should look. This is an external view. The animation manager is the panel on the left of screen.

Shift+2 should bring up the 2D GPS. Does this still work? Shift+3 should then bring up the animation manager. Unless, of course, you've changed the key assignments to bring up 2D panels. Personally I use F2 and F3 but that's because I've changed the key assignments.

If your still not getting it to show it may be worth trying to change the position it appears. Open the panel.cfg and change position=6 to either position=0 (top left of screen) or position=8 (bottom right of screen)

[Window02]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
size_mm=217,312
pixel_size=217,312
position=6
visible=0
ident=ANIMATION_MANAGER_PANEL
gauge00=Avionicsgauge!ants_AnimList,0,0,217,312

It is possible to turn on and off the pilot (rear seat) and passenger (front seat). By default the pilot will not appear in the VC but in external view and the passenger will appear in both VC and external view. You can get the pilot to appear in the VC and turn off the passenger if you like to fly from the front seat.

Thanks Roger for the texture.cfg fix. I will include it in the next build.

All I can say is you have a great airplane, that puts a few "famous" payware planes to shame.. and thanks.:salute:

Heres another repaint over at www.nzff.org , along with another Kiwi Tiger Moth

Have you checked the manual, the goggles is actually part of the Animation manager, selecting Show pilot in VC. You have to deselect to get rid of the goggles. However, you can't because you can't bring up the Animation Manager. Shift + 3 brings it up. Check the panel.cfg?

2nd install was the charm, I can bring up the manager now and just need to get familiar with what's what. I missed the picture of it on my first run through of the manual, when I got to the credits page I figured that was all and didn't notice there were 2 more pages that had illustrations. Should have read the table of contents first, Doh!

Got a 70 mile hop planned for this morning on my round the world jaunt and plan to use the T-Moth. Man, that extra wing seems to give it tremendous lift, also requires a little more thought on planning the landing to keep from over running short fields.:icon_lol:

PS: some of the screenies you guys have posted are masterpieces!

Thanks, JayKae! Man this is one outstanding plane, and it gets better with every unique repaint. A big "Thank you!" to all involved in this project.:medals::medals::medals::medals:

Just completed my first full flight and it went great.

But has anyone noticed: The prop rotates the opposite of most other planes pulling the nose to the right on takeoff per the manual and I found this to be the case. However, in flight when trimmed in and in level flight, the plane's drift was always to the left, does that make sense?

I turned off all weather and winds to insure I wasn't bucking a head, tail, or crosswind.

An excellent package. Hard to believe it's freeware. Thank you Antony.

Took the british registered one for a spin out of Old Warden this morning:
