Thank you to all the people who have posted nice comments and thanks also to all those who've created the wonderful repaints. Thanks also to those who have been kind enough to make a donation.

As Jaykae says version 1.1 is now available (the download should be 70 odd MB, the downloaded says 70.6MB even though the zip is 72.3MB) which is about 5MB more than V1.0, filename for V1.1 is antsTMV11.zip versus antsTMV1.zip for V1.0).

All repaints for V1.0 are 100% compatible with V1.1. I did add some texture to one of the texture sheets but it is not one that people would use in a repaint.

If you have added some repaints make a copy of the aircraft.cfg before running the installer. Then run the installer and then edit the new aircraft.cfg to add in the [fltsim] entries for your repaints and you should be good to go.

There should be no need to uninstall V1.0 and no need to reinstall the repaints (except for reentering the [fltsim] lines into the aircraft.cfg). Note: I have made changes to the aircraft.cfg so don't just replace the new V1.1 aircraft.cfg with the old V1.0 aircraft.cfg. Copy across the [fltsim] entries. Also note that VH-BAL and G-BMPY are included in V1.1, these were available separately beforehand.

Here is a full list of everything changed:

V1.1 adds the following:
- Fixed the turn rate indicator
- Fixed the airspeed indicator so it reads 0 if pitot cover left on
- Removed stall warning
- Fixed texture fallback problems with VH-DHA
- Added missing texture region on ants_DH82_Levers texture (hook on throttle control)
- Filled 3D mesh holes in wings near ailerons
- Turning off com radio will turn off avionics master switch
- Added lubber line to compass
- Added a cover to cover the cockpit when parking the aircraft (see animation manager). Note: close doors and remove pilot and passenger before using the cover.
- Changed compass pointer to a more accurate model
- FDE - removed the tendency of the aircraft wings to self level in a turn
- FDE - changes to the spin characteristics, left hand spins seem to work much better than right hand spins. I don't know why.
- FDE - changed side slipping to allow greater yaw. Need to drop the leading wing to maintain the side slip.

Hello,

The new version 1.1 is also available on Avsim ( http://www.avsim.com/ ) and flightsim ( http://www.flightsim.com/ ).

A question about the compass. On the previous 1.0 version the needle side point to the magnetic North and the cross side point to the magnetic South. On the new 1.1 version, the cross side point to magnetic North. Is it something wrong with my copy of the wonderful Tiger Moth?

Have a good day.

Benoit

Wonderful airplane :) I was wondering if anyone cared to adapt this Gypsy Moth scheme to the Tiger Moth. It was the plane featured in the film Out Of Africa that featured some absolutely beautiful flying scenes. It would be fun to take this Tiger Moth on a safari flight ala from the movie.

PS here are some other great Moth schemes :)

Everything is OK Benoit. Since releasing V1.0 further information came to light regarding the compass needle and the cross point should indeed point to north. In Version 1.0 I simply copied the needle used in the realair spitfire compass (seemed like a good idea at the time).

Hello Anthony,

Thank you very much for the information. The compass of your Tiger Moth is a true magnetic compass like the ones boy scouts use for their journey. And it is working like such a simple magnetic compass: it is alway pointing to the north. Once I have understood that, the use of the compass became more evident. I have still a lot to learn about the old style of aerial navigation.

Once again thank you very much for this wonderful legend airplane model.

Have a good day

Benoit

Hey Benoit,
If you take a look at that video, (RealAir Spitfire) @ 0:45, you'll have an idea how to use this lovely old style compass which is in the Spit as well as in many other british airplanes of that time.
Maybe that can help! :ernae:
