Will we ever see a decent F-111 for FSX ? .

It's actually not personal at all. It's business. A question was asked. I answered it because our name was mentioned. I hardly think I'm airing dirty laundry or, as you say, smearing. That would imply that I was lying or being either libelous or slanderous. Hardly. If it weren't true, then why hasn't David/Iris responded with a C & D directed at me? Because it is true. Sad, and, even reprehensible but still true.

I'm seriously wondering what is the problem with being truthful and direct. There seems to be some kind of angst about this that I just don't get. It is, after all, a "public" forum where a question was asked that I answered. And, I am not attacking Iris. Merely stating the fact that they have not paid for a model that is still on sale. Where is the smear/attack in that?

You may not like the fact that I say this and that's ok. I don't like that fact that you think it's not ok for me to say it. It's un-democratic to try and stop me from having my opinion... don't you think?

As well, it's hardly off topic when my company's name is directly mentioned in connection with a model that was sold to Iris by us.

I would say lets agree to disagree and stop there.

I will simply state that this is between you and IRIS...its a private matter and had no business here at SOH...

you're a business man..handle your business outside of our walls please.

thanks

Milviz sold Iris the F-111F. However, due to the fact that Iris has not yet paid for the Vulcan, we are now looking at rescinding this contract.

nuff said.

And Milviz have not concluded for the short body Huey mesh.

No slight on Milviz, just a fact of life these days for budding developers, be prepared for some long waits to close projects in this curent fiscal climate.

In regards to the Iris Vulcan (or Milviz vulcan, apparently...), does anyone know whether the rear crew compartment is modelled? Or is it just the main cockpit. If I buy the vulcan I want the AEO and navigators seats!

I think with the whole thing modelled to the main cockpit standard it would have been a frame-rate murderer.

Not that I found.

I've never stepped into one myself, but would have loved to do this. I used to see them taking off from RAF Warton back in the 70's...I was very young then of course ;)

Anyhoo, back to Baz and the F-111 which I also have a soft spot for.

OMG.... I forgot. Payment will be sent ASAP.

As for the Vulcan rear seats, they are indeed modeled but would have added way too many polys to the FSX version of the plane... Perhaps the next gen of M$FS? Who knows.

The same goes for the BUFF VC that we are doing. There is NO way we could have all 5(6) seats in there and keep frame rates at all plausible.

No problems, seems my address book got corrupt and mails were going to the wrong address.

Issue resolved and closed.

After the excursion in developers issues(though maybe serious) can we go back to this thread?

I fly the Alphasim F-111 modified up to FSX(with e,g gauges off other Alphasim planes),which is better then nothing, but still its way off (not their mistake just old) an IRIS Tomcat or even(not to start controversy again) the Warbirdsim P-51 C.

So a good answer by Michael when he has a plan (years quarter is enough) would be fine.

And as a nobody buy minimalistic project a new Vigilante including their bomb of the rear version

Looking forward to planes rather then guidance to developers

Back onto the topic, is it possible to do the burp and burn in FSX? That would be really cool!

For those who dont know, THIS is a "burp and burn"

View attachment 1708

They dump fuel out of the back, and light the after-burners, ignighting the fuel. A BIG crowd pleaser at air shows! Sadly, I never got to see one perform this myself. :frown:

We call that a dump and burn here in Oz.

Every year at our Riverfire festival, until the anals legislated it out, a F111 would fly down the Brisbane river at night at around 100 feet, light the wick and pull up to very steep climb, disappearing into the clouds. The final effect was like an alien arrival and extremely impressive. As the city is literally on the river, the plane was below some of the taller buildings. If you happened to be watching the show from the upper levels of those, the sight would be even more impressive.

We are working on this effect. There is no way we could possibly produce an Australian version without it!

have any previes of your F-111?

I've seen that smile.... it then turns into a frown when they have to tank up for the 8th time after a 4 hour mission time... (fully loaded)....

Here's a little roughie out of Ballina in FS2004 to tide the poor poms over. ;-)

Yeah but you should have seen the smile on the F111 pilots face when he was interviewed picking up the new super hornets :D

The Aussies clearly know what to buy. The Super Hornet is affordable and very much has a fair chance at knocking a pesky F-22 or Typhoon down-----it's happened before, much to the chagrin of those that have paid for the pther and much more expensive products.

It is a shame that the "F" is only a stopgap measure until the JSF comes on line. I'm rather partial to a Hornet, ever since the first time I sat in, climbed over and oggled A21-101 way back when. :isadizzy:

History repeating itself :) those with a bit of age will remember the phantoms whilst we waited for the F-111's
At least the Hornets will be around for a tad longer
