Before my senior prom ... there aint no way I could keep up with this.

As it was, our prom theme song was Stairway to Heaven ... LOL!

Then that's your loss, Bud. :icon_lol:

Jitterbuggin' is one of those things that are about the best fun you can have, standing up. :d
I liked the Swing Revival about a decade ago. Great times.

Thanks for finding that, those two are great! :applause:

The basic steps I could keep up with okay, but all the flips and other stunts? Nah.

We didn't have a theme song at my prom - fortunately. Might have resulted in something ear-torturing.

The theme song at my prom was Bonethugs -N- Harmony "Crossroads"...the ballot boxes were stuffed as a protest against the other two options: Alan Jackson or Nickelback :)barf:). There was a small-scale riot when the winner was announced.:icon_lol:

Here's a dance style I think deserves a comeback:

Hey All,

Glad you dug that up! :ernae: Reminded of some really good times when I was entering contests and doin all those flips, dips and arm contortions in barroom contests back in the 80s an early 90s. Used to win my share and can't remember ever finishing worse than 3rd. I'm sure I consumed more than my share of 2nd-hand smoke. Sure surprised my teenage daughter the first time I said I can show you as easy move and flipped her. If you ever wanted to know how to meet girls all you had to do was know how to dance. To this day I thank that girl who took me out on the sidewalk in front of the Antlers in Hines Oregon and started teaching me that stuff back in 78.

That was some HOT STUFF when I used to watch my mom and dad do it! They could really jitterbug and boogie!

My mom grew up in the days of the Flappers..She was not one as told by her..

But that woman could do the *Charleston* to beat the band.....

I'm with you Dain....I love Swing!

I can remember as a young man watching my middle aged aunt and uncle suddenly jump out and cut a rug at a VFW dance...just amazing.

Sadly, they've both passed on but I do remember how easy they made it look that night.

Okay. I had not heard of William & Maeva until Snuffy dropped that YouTube link on us today.

These two are great and really enjoy what they are doing.
What a delight to watch.
Thanks, again Snuffy. :salute: :applause:

Don't know any of that music except Nickelback. If you had chosen one of their earlier songs you'd have been fine since they're not as boring as their current stuff.

We had some riot potential when it came to chosing our year's slogan. Fortunately, the awful one only made second place.

He wasn't dancing.
He was just channeling the awesomeness that is Tom Jones... :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

( Psst. And that was actually Courtney Cox in the "Dancing In The Dark" video with the Boss.
Courtney Thorne-Smith plays the wife of Jim Belushi in "Life With Jim") ;)

I really understand. :d

The only reason I remember, is that was one of the most overplayed videos on MTV at the time.
You know, when they still played music videos... :icon_lol:
