Pitts S-1 Special by Addictive sim

My plane was moving when my throttle was closed. I don't have same problem with other planes so it can't be in joystick. Help, anybody?

Hi Anatolpopov,

This is by design. The Pitts Special S1-T is a very light aircraft with a powerful engine. It will creep into a roll on tarmac if the brakes are not on. A couple of people have noted that for them it would actually pick up quite a bit of speed and so I quickly altered this in order to stop speed building up beyond about 20 mph.

One of our Pitts pilots also mentions - and I quote - "when taxiing it on short dry grass I have to run it at idle and ride the brakes to prevent it going too fast."

Unfortunately a feature of Flight Simulator means that if your default starting profile does not have the parking brake set on, the sim starts with the aircraft already rolling!

Thank you for buying our Pitts. I hope you are enjoying it.

Best wishes

David

I should have chosen a simple one to start with but here is my first repaint. Note that I know that the top wings are blank. I have deliberately kept the underside of wings blank as I cannot find any reference photos.

Hi Tom :wavey:

Yes - I like that one as well. I will do it next. (In the middle of a Super Cub paint for another friend as well as getting advice from Dan re the Marlboro paint)

Nice work Gajit. :)

Are you working off the supplied blank textures or has a layered paintkit been released yet? :)

well I just couldn't help myself - I'm a bi-plane junkie...

but having made the purchase and completed that transaction...I'm still waiting for my email with the serial number. Almost an hour now

How long should it take - I am surprised as I have made many (many many many too many) of these purchases and never waited more than a minute or two for serial numbers to arrive.

Have I just been lucky?

edit: 2 hours now - email sent to addictive sims support link an hour ago....never had a problem with any other developer -

anyone else have to wait this long (or longer) for their serial number from Addictive?

My sounds seem a tad off...anyone else?

Yes to this question. I just downloaded the product. Fanstastic externals but the sound was very strange. Sounded like a recording in a tin can. Nuff said, I simply replaced the audio track with my IRIS Cristen Eagle sound files. Huge difference. You even get the prop buzz with high speed passes. Don't know what to tell ya guys, but an aircraft rendered this well needs much better sound files.

The aircraft does drift on the runnway at idol, even with parking brake on.

No problem with the prop graphics. All looks well here.

Overall an exceptional model, just needs a few tweeks here and there.

Well done tom - that looks great and I will tackle that one next :jump::jump:

I remember pawing all over G-BOOK when Brian flew at a local field back in 1984...very nice chap.

Heres another pic..

And I've a Dunlop logo in .eps format if you want it? :)

ok email received - product downloaded
apparently they sleep over there in the UK - no automation means I check the clock before my next purchase from them...

This Pitts model is special - same FPS as default Cub and you can't beat that
