Milviz Cessna 310 Screenshots and Updates 20 August, 2010

Good evening all. As everyone knows (or hopefully) release is getting ever closer for the 310. As we wrap up the remaining thing on that list we had Nick take some preview shots of the release candidates exterior and VC for you to enjoy. While our internal release window has slipped the release is still not to far away. Other than that there is not to much going on with the other aircraft at the moment since we are full steam ahead trying to bring this bird to the public. As always feel free to comment on the screens. This is the release candidate so if anything is spotted out of place please let us know. Although I think Mr. Stallings has done an excellent job making sure this aircraft looks exactly like his bird in real life. So enjoy the shots, and we look forward to getting this aircraft in your hands as soon as we can!

Speechless!

That is one awesome bit of work! That thing is photoreal!

Love that interior. The seats look fantastic. I cant tell where the leather seams are in the mapping.

Who ever photographed it made the darn thing look like a real plane. Very nice... (Nice work as always Sir Winston).

:ernae: :applause: :ernae:

EDIT: That last screenshot would make a great wallpaper...

Great shots! This is looking so good and I really look forward to it, especially since it has Ken's input from his plane. :applause:

It's been 30 years since I've flown a 310 (how can it be so long?), but I still remember it well as the airplane that really taught me how to fly single pilot IFR. :salute:

cheers,
steve :wavey:

beautiful work.....I can't wait to fly her.

How many paints? How many are N nubered aircraft? Paintkit?

Tks! The big seams are modeled in, and the smaller seams and stiching is textured in. I really like how the stiching came out as it was one of my first attempts doing it.

I also agree with the last screenshot. Make it 1920x1200 and it would be my background. Im really happy with how this aircraft turned out, and its truly one of my best works to date. I think it even beats my FSD P-38! The best thing about this thing? Its not nearly as taxing hardware wise as the P-38 was. Work smarter, not harder! :jump:

Thanks for all the comments. Those are all 3 aircraft that will be included in the package. You have Mr. Stallings true to life bird, then YUL77, a red and white aircraft (N310C), and then the blue and white one (N498BA). There will be a paint kit that is available on release day included in the package. As soon as we finish going through the sound code and getting the buggers out of it (our last remaining problem) this bird will be coming to local hangars near you.

As of right now it is going to be sold through the Milviz site, and at least 2 other vendors (waiting until we pen those deals before releasing the details). We wanted to give people the choice of either buying from us, or buying from someone that people have trusted/dealt with before. Keep in mind though on the other sites they do charge a % of the proceeds for having it on their site, so the price may be slightly higher. All product support though will be done through our website in our forums, and not the other vendor sites.

I still think the interior textures look a bit furry but I'm very much looking forward to flying two of them.

Will there be an older panel, i.e. steam gauges? It seems to me a classic bird like that deserves a classic panel.

Actually, yes. As Ken's real a/c is mostly "steam powered," so too is the recreation of his a/c. The G1000 version in these screenshots is one of only three models.

1. analog panel (3d modeled)
2. "free radio" panel, with default Bendix/King gauges preinstalled, which may be replaced by any 3rd-party avionics the user owns.
3. G1000 panel, with default FSX G1000 preinstalled, and which may be replaced by Mindstar or Flight1 G1000s.

Here is a screenshot of the steam version. Everything on the panel is 3d except for the glass screens:

Looks fantastic externally - I hope the VC will have a "gentle" hint of having some glazing - it looks like its got no windows at the moment.

I prefer it to look like the screenshot. I can't stand when devs add those fake reflections - looks terrible at night.

The aircraft does come with steam gauges. Unfortunately though the image posting limit is 10, so kind of dug for what I thought represented the product best. I myself am a big fan of steam gauges, and like this panel best since it only has the GPS window.

There will be more screens in the coming days. Like I said we are hoping we can resolve the remaining issue rather quickly in order to release it. As far as gauge reflections go I do not think I have ever seen an aircraft with that? I know of the VC shadowing.

That last image is the "Free Radio" version. It has two racks (one 5 slot, the other 3 slot) in which the user can substitute avionics of their choice. There are no "3d knobs" on those racks to get in the way of any 3rd-party gauges.

The G1000 version similarly has no "3d knobs" that will interfere with any 3d-party G1000 units, there is a 3 slot avionics rack for anything else one wishes to add, and a single bay rack under the MFD for a KAP140 or other autopilot one has available.

I don't think Gajit was talking about reflections in the glass of the gauges which you often don't really notice in a real aircraft so it's not so important in an add-on, more the apparent (from the screenshots provided) lack of there being anything in the windows. Overdone on some addons, granted but when subtle as in the L-39 for example it makes all the difference in suspending one's disbelief.

Hard to tell though from what we can see so far so I'll reserve judgement.
