New Harrier Model

If you gents look at the RAZBAM forum, you'll see that RAZBAM intends to build the WHOLE family of the Harrier!!!!!!

About the Wilco video clip....anyone noticed the GR3 cockpit has a RADAR display instead of a moving map originally??? I was hoping at one point they showed the SHAR cockpit but no.....it was the GR3 instead. :bump:

Cheers.

Looks a quite well done model; but there's a howler of an error with the engine intake..
the Pegasus don't have a pointy / round cone at centre of the fan; the intake is shaped to almost touch the fan face; and the boundary air doors are missing.

'Flight International' did a reasonably good cutaway..have to have a rummage and find a linky...

here you go; all GR1/3 and FRS 1 were same

I know the Harrier intake is quite a complex structure (spent 3 months rebuilding one back in mid 1980's after a birdstrike went through it ... XV809)
and I can't model 3d for toffee; but where are the beta testers comments on this?

The intakes and boundary air doors have been corrected in the production models along with numerous other improvements and additions. These include automatic flap activation, controllable STOstop lever that will interact with the nozzle lever for genuine STOL and VTOL activity. :engel016:

Looking Good Barry. I like the GR3. The SHAR 1 front end is a bit odd looking although I cant quite put my finger on what is off... it could just be the angle of the screenshots or perhaps that has been addressed in the improvements mentioned above. Anyway i'm glad someone has done an FSX native version of the earlier Mark Harriers.

I arrived in Australia the month that the fleet sailed for the South Atlantic in 1982, with an overriding fear that I might be called back.

If you're British and with the recent retirement of the type in Britain, how could one possibly not do the GR.3 and FRS1?

For me they are the modern Spitfire. I recently complained to the Aeroplane Monthly that they had never covered the Harrier in any detail ever. Well now it looks like they took me up on it!

Glad to see you back up and around Baz...hope you didn't lose too much in the floods!

Hello Roger.

Yes, we're back in harness. We lost a bit of data, mainly stuff that would be 5 or six years old but annoying because that stuff is always useful in the parts bin! One casualty was the Mosquito so I hope people don't want any mods!

The Harrier is a departure for us but it has turned out really well and Rob has added some magnificent new coding to make it extremely realistic. Very challenging thing to fly but then so was the real thing. I can certainly promise people a lot of fun!

Knowing you guys are behind the model I'll definitely get this one.

You're right, this is like the Spitfire, you can never have too many Harrier models either!

well, i will throw our's into the mix, it was under wraps, but this is where it is at present, still being mapped.

Ours will be the GR7/GR9 package

Really glad to see the Harrier I series for a change, especially the Sea Harrier my favourite of all marks, of which I have worked on from GR1 to GR7, T2 to T10 and FRS Mk1, Mk 51 and FA2.

Particularly good news that VSTOL Flight capability is built in from the get go.

Hoping there'll be working bang seats in some/all of these packages....let's face it,they're important...and it is a Harrier after all :kilroy: ;p :icon_lol:

Hi,

That GR3 looks very nice indeed :) I really like the canopy colour, good to see someone avoiding that milky whitish appearance. Piglet knows how to colour them for sure :)
That GR3 would be a candidate for some Cold War snowey distemper (1 sqn at Tromsø/Bardufoss comes to mind).

Thankyouverymuch Bazzar & Co :)

A nice GR7 as well as a GR3 on the cards, what a fantastic tribute to a fantastic aeroplane, thanks to all who are keeping this bird alive on the PC at least.

LOL!! We watched our clutch of FRS 1's depart ; being held back to make up for all the waffu's that had gone to catch the ferry south. Wasn't deemed politically
correct to let Joe Public know that RN Sea Harriers were being fixed by RAF!!

Didn't realise the model was one of yours Bazzar :redf:; and for all you painters out there
the Falklands one's had all distinguishing marks (Squadron / Unit badges and codes)
removed prior to embarkation.

I think the Royal French Navy Etendard better watch out with a SHAR about. I must re read Sharky Ward's book on the sudject!

Ian.

You're right, that's why we had decided to delay Super-Etendard project and do Gun-Fighter Crusader before...:icon_lol::icon_lol:
