Cessna 195 for FSX

+1

It would be nice to see Carenado tackle this one now that they are putting out higher quality addons.

Now that would be one of the few general aviation aircraft that I would have to buy....

orrrr somebody could be totally awesome and do it as freeware.... :icon_lol:

oh yes

I'm normally of the opinion that once you've flown a high_wing Cessna, you've pretty much flown them all. They might have different avionics packages, but after that. . . .ugh. However, the 195 is the one exception. I can't explain why, it just is. . . .so a well done freeware version or an exceptional payware version would get me into a low wing on a regular basis.:applause:

In FS9 I had a Shakey Jake that I loved

It was a very cool plane, loved having the dog with me.

If that was redone it would more than suit me :ernae:

Yep found that one late last evening. It ports to FSX perfectly with the exception of the VC panel which looks like chrome rather than the nice wood that shows in the texture file. Looking into why that is this morning.:salute:

I managed to get the VC background to a different color, but what I am probably manipulating is the "placeholder" for the gauges and not the actual panel background. I need to figure out how to make the placeholder transparent so that the actual background is visible.

I'm also making a new paint kit for it in HD, so I hope to have a few newer liveries out in a few days.

I'll agree with you.
But for me it's that big 7 cylinder radial engine out front, the Post WWII Art Deco/Retro design, and how nose and cabin just merge nicely.
Wheel spats look great too.
It just has...style.
I've got pictures of one somewhere from a fly-in that is bare metal and highly polished.
Work of art.

I sent an e-mail to Joe Binka letting him know that I'm working on his airplane. I also asked about the VC problem I have. . . .hoping he might have a solution.

UPDATE:e-mail addy is no good. . . .bummer

Ed,
I think you found "Background_color=0,0,0" which can apply a non-chrome colour to the vc panel but to make it transparent so you can see the wood panel involves the .mdl file I believe. mdlmat would work but how to find the correct entry to edit?

Yea, exactly Roger. I can change that placeholder to any color I want, but as you say, the trick is finding that texture in the long list inside MDLmat and changing the alpha to possibly make it transparent.

It's ongoing, lol.:salute:

BINGO! That was almost too easy Roger, lol. It was the second line in MDLmat (LOD 01,02) just changed the alpha for the "diffused" to solid black and voila!!

Good Morning all,
What a great thing to log on and see :applause:

I know what I will be trying when I get home from work this evening.

Well done Falcon and Rodger
