Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

Hello Tommie!

Your recent repaints have caused me to dig up this lovely little gem.

Any room in the line for a basic CF-188 scheme? Just medium grey uppers, lighter grey bottom, maybe a false canopy (don't know how that would work given where the nose gear sits ...)

That would be lovely.

Many thanks - whether you choose it or not.

regards,

I was planning to do one of those too, with the false canopy. But that will have to wait until after the RAF, and Blue Angel repaints.

Thats the beauty of it Tommy, is that it's up to you my friend!! It's your paint brush you choose, I look forward to it, 41sqn is the weapons test sqn they tought the Royal family to fly jets, how would you like it to look, I want to see what you think the A-12 should look like! Its all for Sh*ts and giggles mate!:wavey:

Welp, I tried an old school symmetrical retro repaint at first but it wasn't working out so I dropped that for now. I decided to go in the opposite direction and went with more modern asymmetrical paint scheme to accentuate the lines of the A-12A. I notice that some of the RAF jets were heavy on the red color with a little blue on the tail rudder. I felt the an overall white base would look more modern and clean. So I went with white and added some blue into the mix. Do you think the Royal family would faint if this bird rolled up on the flight line? I wouldn't mind a backseat ride in this one. It looks clean and sharp.....

The Red Arrow(heads)!

Inventive and clever....looks like you've added some panel lines ... sweet!

Thanks DL.......

The panel lines are there in all the repaints; it's just that the stark white really makes them pop out. I might tone them down a bit in the white areas.

"Sir Tommy" that is the complete opposite of what I expected and I LOVE IT!!! You have done an unreal job!!
The Royal Family would Knight you my friend!! :salute: :applause::jump:

Thanks for the kind words.....

Is the 41 Squadron logo / flash (located at the left side of the back seater) appropriate on this aircraft? If not, I'll remove it.

:applause: Thanks again Tommy! There's just something about this aircraft..

That British paint looks great too (Although it looks a bit like a Dutch police car now!); how about a Vulcan retro paint? All anti-flash white, or maybe a green/gray camo..? Sorry, just thinking out loud here!

Small question here: Is it possible to change the exhausts so both have the same colour? I love this model but I just think the red and green 'lights' in the back look a bit odd:

Tommy it is not normally put on the aircraft I just included it incase you wanted to use it, as said it's up to you how you want it too look, if you don't like it then feel free to remove it.

Wow, the Dutch must have pretty cool looking patrol cars. I'll have to check that out.

Not sure if I can do too many more repaints at this time as my plate is full.....

Those exhaust colors seem to be hard coded in, as there are no entries for it in the [lights] section of the aircraft.cfg file. Not 100% sure though. Might be also be an effects texture file; I look around sometime later this week.

I'll leave it on then, as it adds some character to the repaint.

Thanks Tommy:applause:

You're welcome Roger.....

That seems to be Dillingham Air Field in the background. I spent my high school summers out there with Civil Air Patrol. Did more fooling around than flying, but it was all fun.

Couldn't fix it myself; there are two squares in the right color on the glass texture but changing the colors didn't work. There are only two lights, both beacons and the effects don't seem to be linked to the exhausts either.

As for the police cars..

Just checked my it out on my computer and it looks like this! It's a pretty cool and dynamic effect and not static as shown in the screen capture; the offset of the lights / effects is a known FSX bug. Are you running FSX Acceleration?
