Just for fun ( and to give ideas to some ) here is an open non scientific poll :

What is your next most needed 100 % FSX native Helicopter ?

Here is some suggestions :

- McDonnell Douglas MD 520N Notar ?
- McDonnell Douglas MD 600N Notar ?
- Agusta Westland AW-139 ?
- NH Industries NH90 ?

- Other suggestions ?

By vote goes for a four projects above with a slight preference
for the AW-139.

None of the above! Sikorsky S-58/Seabat/Seahorse/Westland Wessex. Long neglected, signifiant market interest, significant historical type. not a plastic toy. Good looking machine too, a classic. Put in a Mercury Spacecraft as a recoverable mission object. Lots of civil, government and military variants, lots of color. (Big) Piston and turbine versions, significant media exposure. One of the great(shocking-ironic-funny) movie helicopter moments ; the door Marine door gunner in Full Metal Jacket '....its easy! you just don't leads 'em so much!'

My list:

CH-47D Chinook, the Dutch version with the glass cockpit or the upgraded F version.

Mil Mi-6 hook and Mi-26 Halo, but the Mi V-12 would be the best! (Although most Russian helicopters would do fine!)

The NH-90, preferably the naval version (Again for us Dutch..)

Westland Lynx (The SD.14 version; same reason as above!)

Agusta Mangusta/Rooivalk or Eurocopter Tiger.
 
Agusta Westland AW139 or the Sikorsky S92 for me,purleeeease:icon_lol: The former I see regularly overhead my house (Irish Air Corps variant)..and all seem to still have their tails still attached,which is a bonus. ;p
The S92 will be taking over from the S61N in the Irish Coast Guard from next year and it'd be nice to carry out virtual SAR with the new a/c (it hasn't been built before for FS as far as I'm aware?).

There were initial plans for an FSX'd Icaro AW139...but that doesn't appear to be happening now and the portover suffers from a VC that looks like a hall of mirrors in FSX

Simshed may be building a native FSX version
 
In order of preference...

  • Gazelle AH1 (plus maybe HT2 and HT3)
  • Squirrel HT2 (and HT1) with dual instruments and controls, plus hook
  • Lynx HAS3 (not too bothered by the HMA8)
  • Wasp
  • Lynx AH7 (and maybe AH9 and/or AH9A)
  • Scout
  • Dragonfly
  • Skeeter
  • Sycamore

I fully admit these are mostly British and/or mostly Westland-built. Gazelle AH1 is definitely No.1 for me!
 
As a very ex-crewmember on the Wessex (see avatar), I'd love one in FSX. I helped a little with the Simshed FS9 model and miss not having one around now. A real Gentleman's aircraft, that would never let you down.

:jump:Concur! 'Nuff of the plastic toys. Give me something that inspires fear in the groundhogs as it thrashes the air into submission, pummels the ears with fulgruating king sh$t industrial noise, rattles filings out of the aircrew's teeth and leaves an oil slick to simplify navigation. How can you not like a helicopter with 2 R2800's in.

This thing makes a Chinook look small; the only word that comes close to how I felt the first time I saw it was 'Flabbergasted'!

I totally agree. In spite of the fact my list started with post-60s/70s turbines I'd be over the moon to see more high-quality classic piston-enginned types, which is why I finished with Dragonfly, Skeeter and Sycamore. For instance, I also love the freeware Alphasim Whirlwind.

It would be great if Rick Piper were able to finish off his Sycamore.

The idea of an FSX-native Simshed Wessex also excites me, especially if their FSX-native Nimrod is anything to go by...

Rick Piper has done a Sycamore and even though it is still 'beta' it is already pretty good.
 
To my knowledge there has never been a UH-34 . Used extensively in early Vietnam years . My good friend I went into the Marine Corps under the "Buddy Plan" was a crew chief in a 34 on his first tour then a 46 on his second tour . A UH-34 would be an outstanding addition to FSX .
