eMaybe a repaint for VAL-4 in the standard OD/Marine field green colors. I know that there is a VAL-4 paint in the original issue but for the most part of the unit's history they flew the green and white or all green birds.

Lots of pics here, could not find any specific bird.

There is also the all black paint job that was made for the earlier FS 2002-2004 version of Piglet's pony. The Bronco has to be one of my favorite birds, not only in FS and scale models but in real life, I once had the rare chance to help out in servicing one at NAS Fallon many years ago. For me it was a wish fulfilled.

A couple of questions here.I think I have or use to have the model of aircraft in the pic.The one I'm flying now has a small bubble under the nose. How many models of this bronco has piglet made.I also would like these paints.

The Bird you are flying is an fs9 bird, OV-10D, The bubble you are referring to is a FLIR

Don't have enough time to complete this release, and your requested paints, But after completion, I can do the Black Bird, as well as the OD Val4, question DO YOU want the CIA(Vietnam version) or the standard version.... I have the art of nearly every Bronco bird ever painted out there, I was in Fresno when the CDF 410 Bird went down, I have somewhere around 2735 hours in the "A" and am trying as hard as I can to re-create the exact handling charicteristics, to include 60 degree roll rate. Accellerate while turning, as well as the loop character of the bird. My only wish is to be buried with this bird. :icon29:

No problem if the paints I requested don't make it for the release as long as they are in the pipeline. I have tried to do the VAL-4 bird myself but my skill as a painter explains why I just fly 'em and drool over the efforts of others. As for the VAL-4 bird itself, most of the pics I've seen have the Marine field green on the tops of the wings rather than the white as seen on the Corps' birds. By the way, thanks for the reply to my request, the Black Pony's were a unique unit along with the Seawolves, I've met a few over the years and even after 20 years in the Navy myself I'm always in awe when I am around those men.

Funny thing about this topic, shortly after I signed off last night I was looking at my hobby shelf and found a 1/72 scale OV-10 from Academy along with the VAL-4 decal sheet I got a few years back. Something tell me that I'll be putting that bad boy together sometime soon.

update

I was up most of the night last night doing the balance thing, IN FSX it says Right and Up from datum is + Left and Down is - But when relocating external fuel, I am getting either a left or right imbalance, will work today to remedy, IF I do not have a remedy, I will upload the paints independently, but then you will lose the benefit of a good pit. sorry guys it's the best I can do for now.

Monday 11/14 update ..... found 2 problems 1 with .cfg editor 1 with model, all models have a defect in that the weapons pod is off left to right by 2 lods so 1 machine gun is closer to the fuselage than the other, requiring a different set of numbers, AND the .cfg editor I use has a problem reading different opposites, finally got it about 3 am this morning..... finish testing this morning, then to remoe payware items, to default fsx.... and upload..... hopefully today... thanks for the patience.....

Excellent! Very nice repaint....

I have been working on an all american executable of Tim Cinrads Bronco with 13 paints, and a new v_pit with a gunsight, Is their any interest, It is for FSXaccel, all textures are converted to .dds with 8 belonging to me, 3 For John Detrick, 2 were Tim's The v-pit is powered by xml gauges mostly by me, some from .net

It is a pitty that the nice repaint is marred by using the wrong numerals...
Only very recently, with the advent of computer generated font decalcos
that some birds are sporting Arial font letters and numerals...
However, the US Air Fprce hasn't used arabic numbers "1"...
with rare exceptions... they use the squared off bar-type number ones...
I have noticed that many european repainters make that mistake.. especially Brits
US services' block letters and numerals are very easy to do from scratch... see
one of my tutorial postings here...
Fine paint job nonetheless... enchance it by correcting the numerals...

It's a pity that there are rivet counters in this hobby too. I imagine that each paint took a few hours to finish and because the font is wrong it's a license to S*** bomb the work. I have 20 years in the USN and I know there are more than a few times that I saw birds on the flight line with the wrong font. I guess the Airframers were too lazy to cut the right stencil. If I sound sarcastic I'm sorry, this is a hobby for fun and I just read a posting that one fine repainter just had enough.

I do repaints for myself and friends, my work is not in the same league as the ones posted here and other sites. I don't have the patience to make paint jobs as well as the ones I always see here. I'll stop here as I have a tendency to p*** off people, especially when I had a long day and the arthritis is acting up.

It's a shame you make these comments, without background, The Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps sported different numeral as well as marking regulations, The NAVY has even less regulatory by UNIT, than federal. also an aircrafts color scheme was pretty much left to the discretion of the on-site commanding officer.
