Tempest tempting me

Sometimes there is an aircraft i like...this is the Tempest...can interest if icarusgold make his fsx version?

Again, a heads up (not that it matters I guess), but this one is definitely in the works elsewhere- final stages infact.

Mark V that is.
 
Different mark numbers were allocated to each of the six prototype/engine combinations: the Mk I (HM599) was powered by a Sabre IV, the Mk II (LA602 and LA607) were powered by Centaurus IV radial engines, the MK III (LA610) used a Griffon IIB, the Mk IV (LA614) had a Griffon 61 and the Mk V (HM595) had a Sabre II.
 
I was suggesting that A2A might like to do a Napier Sabre powered aircraft on the grounds that it is perfect for Accu-Sim - the most pernickity and unreliable engine ever fitted to an aeroplane! ;)

There's usually room for two competing versions of the same aircraft, especially if they cater to different markets (one simple, one complex).

Unfortunately the things I'd like to to make, Icarus, would never sell sufficient numbers to be worthwhile. Things like Avro Ansons, Bristol Bombays, HP Halifaxes, etc. The workhorses that never got the fame. Unfortunately, as I just said, they'd never sell enough to warrant making them. :(

Yes please - and I would love a Boulton Paul Defiant with rotating firing turret. :jump::jump:
 
yes actually the tempest but we have many warbirds on mind...and some coming soon as the lysander, an hurricane and tempest...actually we have warbirds, racers, aerobatics and biplanes, also from different contry i am studying also possibilities to build a fiat cr-42 after the gladiator success sales.

Ian, the problems its search and find the resources...about tempest i find tons of drawings and technical infos, cockpit description etc...about bristol bombay it's hard find draws and technicals.

The Bombay was a transport and, technically, bomber - although as with many British aircraft such as the Defiant and Battle, it was obsolete before it was first used. They have little to nothing going for them.

The Anson is probably the best known of the three I listed, as it was used for everything - flight crew training, air sea rescue, transport, air taxi, squadron hack... They were never "sexy" or interesting, but the darned things were everywhere. Outside of real enthusiasts, however, no-one would be overly interested in flying one and it would be a total flop as payware, I strongly suspect. Mind you, I'd say the same about most of the types being proposed here! ;)

I agree Ian that the anson would be interesting.

What may get the attention would be one of the Hawker byplanes - those silver winged beauties
 
Now this is a good thread. Great to see these old birds being talked about. I agree with Ian, there is such a shortage of FSX quality vintage aircraft, commercially not viable, but would love to see a great Halibag, Stirling, Hampden, Typhoon, Tempest....
