Battle for Europe Problems.

Got it...

RJ,

Check in the Warbirds library, the German Aircraft section. We uploaded them to the new library a while back.

Do you want the newest (2012) version? I can send it to you...it's just waiting on St. Nazaire.

Thanks, I will take a look.

The newest version of what. I will wait for St. Nazaire. I am finding it quite hard what to do exactly once I have downloaded the files, I think I am going to have more aircraft than I realy need, and have a few weps missing. Your install instructions are very good.

I will need to ask more questions latter about the ETO install and Battle of Europe install.

Thanks,

Robert John

Robert John,

That's CFS2-speak that it doesn't like something you installed. It's usually a result of having too many aircraft, or aircraft & skins, in your aircraft folder. It can also happen with ships or files in your objects_dp folder, if you exceed something like 1,500 objects.

If you had problems after installing the panel, perhaps your install didn't like the panel. The good news is, you can backtrack and play detective. To fix this without doing a re-install, you need to replace your quick combat (.qcb) file with a backup, and then use the windows search feature to delete all of your .cdp files and filelist.dat files. The latter will regenerate when you use the program again.

As far as the aircraft are concerned, I assure you they are all used as player or AI aircraft. And yes, you will need to make sure they all have their weapons. I can help you hunt for them if required. The Battle for Europe campaign is the largest for CFS2 in Europe, so I understand your frustration.

As far as the 2012 version, I moved one of the missions to attack the city of Nantes, fixed the timing on some missions, found a couple of errors and improved the infrastructure. The submarine complex at St. Nazaire will be the last hurdle to complete the project.

I thought that as soon as it worked on a virgin install. Now I have to work out which ones to uninstall as the Battle of Europe was done on a fresh install.

I have removed

Bf109 G-6 Hartmann white 1
Bf109 G-6 Hartmann winter
Bf109 G-6 Hartmann yellow 1
Bf109 G-6 Hartmann yellow 1 '44

DAG Tank_TA152C now loads without error messages.

Many thanks

Robert John

I am following the Battle for Europe instructions and I get a CTD, when I change the 7 to a 3 no CTD. I know it needs to be a 7 to work.

Rami’s ETO install guide
Now, this is very important…the texture files from your SCENEDB\WORLD\TEXTURE folder must be copied to the main, or “root” TEXTURE folder in the sim where you’ll be using this scenery. This TEXTURE folder is NOT located in either the SCENEDB or SCENERY folders; it is a separate folder, found between SOUND and UIRES folder.

Unlike Europe, DO NOT remove the textures from the SCENEDB\WORLD\TEXTURE folder just yet; doing so will cause unnecessary labor and headaches on your part. I will inform you on when to do this later in the document.

When do I remove the texture from the SCENEDB\WORLD\TEXTURE file.

Thanks SC
l will keep your dday country file but it is not what I need at the moment.
I am building the Battle for Europe on a fresh install and following Ramis Battle for Europe installation guide and Rami's GSL ports - Europe readme to see what problems I run into and see if a step by step tutorial would be handy to produce.
I think I will need a lot more help on this instalation.

Robert,

Any changes you make with regard to the campaign's player nationality in the country.cfg must also be made to the related cmg, missions and even the aircraft (both AI and player) in the mission files. For example, if you change a nationality in the cfg from 7 to 3, you also have to make that change to the allegiance within any related campaign cmg file and its attendant mission files (allegiance=7 to allegiance=3). And every aircraft within the mission file that is affected by this change must also have its allegiance modified accordingly. And for additional good measure against CTD's, you should also open the dp's of the related player and AI aircraft with notepad and edit the allegiance in the [MISC] sections.

Which country.cfg file are you using?

If you are using Microsoft's expanded country.cfg file, there is already a number 7 country in the list which is the US Army. If you are just changing the American position's number 3 to a 7 in that .cfg file you will then have two number 7 countries and a crash.

Try copying the text provided in the Country.txt file that you get with the USAAF ETO UIRES download and paste it into the number 7 country position, rename it per Rami's instructions and see if that works. It should.

Thankyou every one I have it working now. As I am only intersted in the Battle of Europe country enteries,my enteries are as below:-
