John, Morton's utility will help you there.
It is here in the SOH library:

With it, you can add, subtract aircraft for you missions and campaigns. It will also allow you to see what aircraft and ships you are missing and substitute some of your favorite add-ons in place of the stockers.
Whenever you add anything to your install(S) of CFS2, you have to go into the main CFS2 folder and search for and delete all "filelist.dat" files, "*.cdp" files, and "index" files: EVERY TIME you add something.
Also, you cannot have more than 80-100 aircraft in your aircraft folder. It is different for every install, as CFS2 doesn't tell you that you have too many for its liking. I have some installs that have just 79 planes because at 80 it CTDs on me. I have other installs that I have 90 aircraft in and it works fine. Any extra skins listed in your aircraft.cfg file count as overall aircraft number. I just make separate aircraft and alias the sound and panel files to the original so I don't have to go looking for aircraft with more than one skin. I rename the entire aircraft to whatever skin it is wearing, which gets a bit involved. SDC redux made an over 100 aircraft module file to go into your MODULES folder that eliminates the CTD when you have too many, but having that many still causes some issues:

Then, there is the Jones Soft QC editor:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=49&id=6211 It lets you reconfigure your Quick Combat file to add on a bunch of aircraft for free flight and quick combat. One caution on it. I have at times needed to go into the qc file and delete a bunch of free space at the top and bring the first entry up to the top line.
Or, it might be Morton's utility that has the free space at the top of the QC file. I do not recall right now. Anyway, one or the other will leave free space at the top of the qc file causing it to CTD. Eliminate the free space and everything works fine.
Oh, on the AF drop tank for the TR B25 C1......you can go into the DP in the aircraft and scroll down to the hardpoints and delete the line that call for it: mount 22. Then scroll down to the payloads section and delete any references to it.
I do the same for the AI-C47 towcable and waco entries since in the Pacific campaigns I build, thus far, I have not used them.
Hope this helps.
