FW190D-9 and TA-152???

Hard at work testing the D-13 here at Cardiff. ;)

Trust me, she will be worth the wait, a real beauty and a treat to fly.

looking great! only comment....will the paints be weathered at all? the paintwork looks awesome...just looks kinda too new for a war weary bird that this one should be with the paint job.

Yeah there are others that are a bit more dirtied up. The one in this particular paint scheme is the Flying Heritiage Collection 190D. Being a restored aircraft it is no doubt a little cleaner than a wartime example :)

Really beautiful!

Are there any plans to make the planes (and perhaps the older 190 packs as well), compatible with TacPack?

I'm getting excited about this release - I've always loved the lines of the Doras.

As far as weathering is concerned, how many Doras got "war weary? Except for the D-9's they were basically prototypes. Even the Ta-152H only saw a handfull of operational sorties from bases in central Germany. I would expect that most were factory fresh while in German hands. The D-9s are another story, but even here a good proportion crashed or were shot down during bodenplatte or on bomber defense sorties with only a few training hours on the airframe. I'm not saying that some Doras didn't get weathered, but I don't think they got anywhere near as nasty as the A models operating for months at front-line strips on the Russian front.

Being a huge Germna WW2 fighters researcher I can tell you that the D-9 saw alot of service, and frankly the TA-152 saw alot of service also. Maybe not as much as a 109...but the way these things were built lent itself to very dirty aircraft, that combined with the elements, and exaust were enough to dirty them up. A little research would bare witness to this.

Great screenshots, PilotTJ! I'm really looking forward to having the FHC Fw-190D-13 in FSX, through this product, joing the FHC Fw-190A-5 in FSX as provided through one of the models from the late A-models pack and a great repaint by Huub Vink.

As with aircraft in real life, one is cleaner than the other. This one is very weathered. Mathias and Alessandro are still working on some nice surprises.
So please keep in mind that all pictures are still work in progress and might not represent the final product!

However, as I expect most virtual pilots spend most time inside the cockpit. some pictures from the Ta-152. The weathering in these cockpits is really of exceptional quality!

In general weathering should tell a story. It should match the circumstances, area and period an aircraft is used in. Simple details like the scratched wood need the plug tells a whole story, which you fully understand, although you can't see or simulate the action.

These aircraft were the F-35s of the second world war and were high end technology in their days therefore probably better looked after looked after than we now realise.

Cheers,
Huub
