The links for the Bf-109s at Paul Rebuffat's site are no longer working, and it's high time we get these models up at SOH. The Spitfires have already been preserved. Unfortunately, there are only a few Bf-109 models preserved in the new library!

This is a repaint of Paul Rebuffat's Bf-109G-10AS by Daniele Biotti.
This folder contains the original .mdl file, sound, panel, and new textures.

Nine months after the armistice between Italy and the Allied Forces, the new-born Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana in northern Italy received about 200 Bf-109s of the latest series.

One of them was the G-10AS. Some of the fighters given to Italy were slightly different from the G-10s
used in Germany: the main modification, due to a different version of the DB605 engine, was the absence of the two little bulges under the nose, as like as the bigger one on the left side of the engine compartment. The lenght of the tailwheel varied as well.

The W.Nr.491493, coded 2-8, was in charge at 2a Squadriglia, 1°Gruppo Caccia, and was based at Lonate pozzolo in the spring of 1945. The painting scheme is the result of a historical reconstruction.

Bf 109 G-6/AS, Walter Oesau, Kommodore JG1, Paderborn May 1944. Delivered to units from late spring 1944, the 109 G-6/AS was an attempt to increase the 109 performances in altitude. It was fitted with the DB605AS engine with its larger supercharger.

I think I have Rebuffat's entire production, but I have the habit of modifying the original downloads deleting out repetitive objects like common textures, weapon packs, etc. in order to reduce their size for permanent storage, but I never delete their readme and author's signatures anyway. In many cases, I also reduced their collision bubbles to more realistic sizes and reduced excessive shine on matte camo liveries to a soft satin finish for quicker re-install, if needed.

In repaint packs, I never keep duplicated files like pilot's textures, internal details, VC textures, wheels and so on, expecially if they are the same as the originals.

Let me know if they would still be good for SOH's library, and, if so, what are you still missing.
