  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

???????

Reboot.

I don't check in for a couple of days and look what happens. everything goes to hell in a handbasket.:d

BLONDI:cost1:

I would like to know myself?

I know they will fix it soon!

Fom now on, Blondi I would like you to post every day. See What happens when you do not to get to post everyday.:ernae:
I do like this forum very much!:jump:

So, has it occurred to anyone else who was strangely absent when this very expensive loss of data happened?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . get a rope!

Hi all,
Atleast the downloads section appears to have survived the crash.
Here's wishing Ickie and the crew the best of luck ingetting it sorted.

Y'know that big red button behind the door that says "Do not Open" - the one that has "Do not Press" written on it?

Well, I was just sorta wonderin' what would happen.............................

OHHHH MANNNN!
This can't be happenin !!
You're right I do wish them the best of luck !
Just a matter of who's gonna pay for my therapy ?:isadizzy:

Good Luck Guys !
OTTO

....and look what happens when Jagdflieger is away....:costumes:

Let me join in wishing the best of luck as well to Ickie and the SOH team! :icon29:

Cheers!
KH :ernae:

Look on the bright side....at least the search function will work better now :costumes:

Best of luck to Ickie and the SOH Team in trying to get things back to normal...or as normal as things ever get around this place.

OBIO

My sympathies. I've had whole files and folders just suddenly disappear imto some computer netherworld. Good Luck. :d

Huh! Wha....What Happened! Where did everything go! All I did was hit the big red button!! I think it said staples on it.....or was it Do Not Touch...I forget...

If anyone can fix it, Ickie can! As BC said, at least the download section seems to be intact. Imagine losing that! It would be like the burning of the Library at Alexandria!:costumes:

But then unlike the Library at Alexandria, there are backups all over the world. Recompiling however, would be a nightmare:isadizzy:
