Truk Lagoon

Ranger Ghostrider,

As an old English playwright once said: "Frame rates or details, that is the question."

Ships:

For high frame rates I think the Virtual Navy (VN) series of both allied and Japanese ships would be a wise choice.

For detail, then Usio's IJN and USN ships, Collin's Ships, as well as Crowther's Fletcher Class DD.

Airplanes:

For the best FPS, the stock MS SBD Dauntless and F6F Hellcat with B-24 Guys updates.

For an SB2C Helldiver, it's got to be Wolfi's for either high FPS or detail.

For the SBD Dauntless, the Donationware SBD-5 Dauntless. If payware is an issue, then the first version of the SBD by Gramps and the FDGv2 team is in the library here and it is a fine plane too.

For the TBM Avenger, I think that we only have the stock MS plane with the B-24 Guy's update as a choice.

Roger that - to include Yorktown's VB-5. I have a couple of good ones - have to figure out where I got them from! And Jagdfliegr, I think we posted at the same time! Thanks for all of the advice!

I like your idea of going with the VN ships - I think most folks will have them, and James and I go way back

Been using the FDG SBD, Wolfi's SB2C, stock F6F and TBF with B-24 Guy's updates

Just put Jean Bomber's coordinates into Google Earth. I want to go visit him and learn how to do this stuff, when I am not sight-seeing in his neighborhood.....

You're welcome, it's not the acurate location but I leave in the town.
Cote d'azur ,not exactly, this concern the area at east of Marseille ,Toulon ,Nice ,cannes ,Menton etc....
I leave in the Rhônes delta in Provence ,a land called Camargue ,a natural wet zone ,a white horses and black toros land ,a mosquitos land too....,we have also our cowboys (les gardians) and also our indians ,the gipsies, and as soundtrack you can heard the rhumba gitane to feel the place ,the song "djobi djoba", by the gispsy kings (a local band), is a good exemple.

But of course, mon ami! - J'ai travaillier avec l'armee Francaise en la premier guerre du Iraq. (Excuse my high schol French, please)

D'accord Jean, I have to chuckle, Provence sounds just a little like Eastern North Carolina, we are "where land and water meet" (and mosquitos) We call it the "Crystal Coast" but we have Black Bears intead of Bulls, Outer Banker ponies, rednecks, and Tuscarora Indian descendants - check out some Possum Jenkins for your soundtrack! We even try to produce some of our own wine (without much success, in my opinion)

Jean,

We have had a very extreme winter this year too. It's been great for skiing, but my heating bill is noticeably higher due to the cold temperatures.

Nous avons un hiver extrême cette année aussi. Il est bon que le ski, mais cher chauffe la maison.

I too would rather be on Etan this week.

My house last week.

Ma maison la semaine dernière.

We're having a cooler summer than usual - temps are generally keeping under 40 C!:friday:

I'd happily trade some hot dry weather (from the Land Downunder) for that amount of snow anyday. :)

I hate to say it, but I can't get this scenery to work. :( All I get is a colored patchwork.

Glad to be of assistance Ghostrider!

Now at 20F, watching Nc Panters being whipped into kittens by a bird and snowing. Shoveled twice already ( both at half-times) with Loooooooooooooow temps coming.
Jag; if you have a firplace put in a fireplace insert and new boiler (count for tax rebates/credits). The new ones sip oil and my insert makes sure that the boiler rarely goes on. But where you are you have probably have them already.
