MAAM B-25 will not work correctly

big-mike

SOH-CM-2022
I bought the B-25 2hours ago and don`t get her working correctly.
Meanwhile i installed her three times, deleted everything with MAAM inside, restarted the PC,deleted the files described in the readme1--nothing.Then i added the glass fix, also no success.
I have no glass,no pilots,no exhaust flames.
I searched all HDD`s for the words MAAM or MAAM B-25 and deleted what i found.

Just received a mail from MAAM and it says:
MAAM-SIM North American B-25J Mitchell "Briefing Time"
Version 7_FSX Download version.
Any ideas?
Mike

Not sure what could be the cause of your situation.

As a suggestion you might want to run the installer to a dummy location, then manually move the folders to their respective FSX folders.

Sounds like you do not have the FSX version. As far as I know, Briefing Time is available in FS9 and FSX versions. Having to install additional files sounds like you are trying to install the FS9 version into FSX.

The Dl shows "BT_DLv/_X.zip"

Is it loading some of the aircraft files into Program files rather than Program files (x86) as it may not take account of your 64bit OS?

I cannot find something on my C\ Drive,Roger.

Hi Mike,

After running the installer, did you get any warnings or messages about the install whatsoever? Have you looked into the eventviewer? Anything there?

But most importantly, have you tried installing the bird into a temp folder after which you can copy the lot into FSX?

A lot of us are running that magnificent bird into FSX so it should work in the enc. Keep us posted please!

The installer works flawless,no problems.
I also installed the B-25 into a dummy folder and moved the content to the FSX ACC folders.
Meanwhile i have deleted everything on every drive and even in the registry.Searched for "MAAM","B-25","BT"."MAAM B-25"
I have no more ideas now.

I couldn't get it to display the textures properly in DX-10 but looks great as is in regular FSX. I have Windoze 8.

I did have it in Dx10 with the fixer and all displayed correctly except the gauges which required an update.

I added a few pics.
I generally fly in DX10 Mode with Steve`s Fixer.
As you can see with the metallish paint you can look inside the aircraft,
the glass is missing and from the pilots you can only see the uniform cap and the headphone.
Mike

PS I want o add, that i fear, that perhaps some texture files from my FSX setup may be damaged or missing.
FSX runs now over three years without a new installation.
For example,i couldn`t restore REX4 to default.
It`s only a suspicion.

Mike,

I did not see you comment on the DX10 subject that you actually tried it in DX9 ? Because most probabely that will give you your cockpit glass and pilots back.

I haven't seen this old girl for a long while but just to check it in FSX again i searched for my original installation files, found the zip for the FSX version, installed it and it appeared just as in your screenies, no glass, no pilots, no exhaust flames.... But i'm running FSX in DX10.... Changed to DX9 et voila, everything's there, glass, pilots, exhaust flames and all.

Can you let us know what happens if you change to DX9 ?

Cheers,
Jan

Jan,
i think that you are right.
The last days i invested so many time into the B-25.
For the moment i don`t have her installed and will only
enjoy a flight over the new ORBX Northern California.
I am sick with the flu and can`t think straight.
But i really believe, that she will work without issues in DX9.
But i don`t want to go back to DX9.
Mike
