Hi,
Thanks for this info. I have tried in toning the green down abit but as you see on your VC the 4 bolts on the front window must be mapped into the same area as this green box. Tell you what the VC is one very nice VC it's one that you defiantly need to have TrackIR to look around. She still looks awesome without weapons. Oh is there a key command in getting rid of the outside power supply? The only why I have found is once you have her started and rolling it the disappears.

Nose Wheel Steering ?

Manual Page 8: The Lightning has a differential braking system so to steer first get the aircraft rolling (slowly!) then apply rudder in the direction required and apply the brakes (use a repeated dabbing action rather than constant pressure). As the rudder does not gain full authority until 100kts be prepared to use the brakes on a crosswind take-off / landing.
If you want NWS, you can change the Aircraft.cfg [contact_points] like this:
Real world differential brakes steering:
point.0= 1, 13.05, 0.00, -5.38, 2000, 0, 0.90,180.0, 0.700, 1.140, 0.6, 4.0, 6.8, 0, 330, 352

Hi all
First of all , simply STUNNING screenshots , never looked that good on my screen ! ,glad you are liking it.
Just to explain a couple of points that have been raised..... I've never seen a PEC's anything other than an anodised green but its a chemical dyeing of the metal and can range from
deep emerald to a light sage green.
The same with the compass bolts but they could equally have been blue ,purple or grey .( In fact the one I used for reference had green bolts and blue nuts ! )
With the Houchin I arranged the visibility this way because the power is switched on and off by the ground-crew at the pilots command ,( hence the cockpit switch ),
After both engines are started the fire bottle is wheeled out of the way and power leads removed , and the pilot simply taxis away from the power-set . (If I could have figured out how to
get it to stay in place for a short while I would have done :0)
@DVJ... had to go around eh ! I notice the doors are open and the chutes gone ! Hope those skinny tyres survive the next landing .

I can still remember seeing these at the various Airshows we went to as Kids back in the 50's Oh those were the days. Not sure where you fitted into the building of this add on but THANK YOU from all of use in the FS community.

It's probably a dummy round for practising loading the aircraft and the handling procedures, I believe there was also a training round that had the seeker head but no wings (or motor presumably) for the pilot to practice using the weapon.

At what point does the Pilots Visor come down
Hi Guys,
OK Just had a short flight from Duxford and am not if I have done something but I'm sure the Pilots visor was UP prior to take off but whilst in the air I noticed that the visor is down. At what stage does this move?

Yes there were three types of missile state,
Dummy ......... filled with concrete ! (they were flown ( the Lightning handled better with the missiles fitted) )
Aquisition..... active scanning for practice intercepts . but no warhead or motor .
Live............ ones that went whoosh.... bang
In later years the redtop aquisition was sometimes flown without wings to extend their flying hours.

Anyone doing ILS approaches? I find that the localizer behaves strangely. An example.. on approach to Coltishall (EGYC) the localizer is to the left when lined up with the runway all the way down to just short of the threshold.
It seems to me as if the course selection is not matching up with what is indicated. The RW at Coltishall is exactly 220 degrees so the fact that the ILS course only selects in units of 5 degrees is not a factor.
Anyone care to give it a try to see what they think?

I tried EGYC and I have the same issue. When I try EHAM 18R it works OK. Maybe there is an issue with the EGYC AFCAD?
EDIT: I tried other airports and indeed, on any runway ILS which is not heading 18 or 36, the centerline bar has this problem of pointing in the wrong direction (always to the north). I tried another airplane and this proved that it is not an EGYC issue, I got the centerline bar correctly lined up with the runway/ILS heading 22.
EDIT 2: I should have read the manual LOL. You need to align the ILS with the runway heading using the HSI - "SYN" knob. If you set it to 220 for EGYC, the centerline bar lines up as it should. Conclusion: The ILS works as it should.
