A Mosquito No No!

I decided to try out the Mosquito I downloaded this past week by flying a fairly short hop from Warraber Island to Horn Island off the north coast of Australia. A distance of approx 49nm and normally not a long flight in a chopper. . . .NOT!

That area (Torres Strait) just happened to be strong winds and rough seas at the time and that 49nm seemed like it took hours, lol I have to say that after flying over calm water for the past month or two it was nice to see some white caps and water movement. Even along the beaches you could see the waves rolling in.
Back to the Mosquito, it is not the ideal Chopper for that kind of weather. The narrow fuselage in high winds was similar, I would imagine, to an 18 Wheeler in a hurricane. There were a few times I was pitched almost vertical. Anyway, made it and was glad to be on the ground. No more Choppers in that area unless I make the weather, lol.

I would have posted some pics but I had my hands full!!

One of the nicest things about a sim is that you can pull these white-knuckle flights without that pesky risk of really dying.

The bad weather flights are actually my favorite. Nice to see someone else has the same lack of self-preservation . . .
