TMS YF-23 Released 8/28

Yep, Totally ready to buy it. The most beautiful modern fighter ever.

But it’s not in the 2024 Marketplace and not going to get it until I get confirmation it shows up in your 2024 library. Top Mach’s T-7 Red Hawk took months to show up in 2024.

Ah, according to the Discord a native 2024 release is coming soon.

V1.0.X will be submitted to the Marketplace for testing and release within the next few days. This will include a substantial update to V1.0.1 that was released Aug. 28, '25 for 2020 Xbox and PC as well as the native 2024 version. We are finalizing development and testing prior to submission. The list of changes will be noted in the changelog as we get closer to release.

A very nice model, looks and flies great. At slow speeds and high AoA, you can perform some wild maneuvers with it. Just make sure you have plenty of altitude!

Nope, they're not making the 2020 version available to 2024 fliers, because they have a fully native 2024 version that was just submitted to MS testing. It could be out as early as next week, or as long as "who knows" given the Marketplace testing pipeline issues.

Their Discord did confirm the 2024 version will be a free upgrade for people who buy the 2020 release.

Anxious to hear impressions from folks who buy the 2020 version! I like their T-7, and their old freeware F-22 was nice. (I didn't buy the payware F-22 because it was overpriced, and I didn't buy the B-2 because I already had the other one.)

Thanks Denny. I will wait. Not doing much with Flight Sims these days anyway.

Well, I'll just bring an incomplete and possibly misleasing feedback here, so don't take it too seriously please ;)
I bought the plane for MSFS2020 and installed it right away, but I haven't tried it in MSFS2020 yet.

However I could "activate" it in my MSFS2024 library, and I could do a quick test flight. The cold&dark startup seemed to work perfectly, but the subsequent flight revealed a few issues with the flight model: the aircraft doesn't keep its pitch at low speeds, and any speed higher than 400 knots led to severe fluttering of the elevators and loss of control. So just like the author said, the plane seems to be INCOMPATIBLE with MSFS2024.

I will report if the same issues occur in MSFS2020.

Yeah, it sounds like TMS wanted 2024 fliers to just wait for the native release, but MS went ahead and made the 2020 version available anyway and Daube's experience shows why they wanted us to wait. :)

Excited to hear your impressions in 2020. I'm excited for this one.

Sorry for the lack of feedback, as I have only found the time for a very short flight in MSFS2020 this time :/
I can summarize by telling that I absolutely love the aircraft. The cockpit is very nicely done although I have barely scratched the surface of the various available features.
Basically I have just done a quick cold&dark flight which ended in mid-flight because I had to leave from the computer :(
Since I haven't read the manual yet, I am not able to make the pilot 3D model disappear from the cockpit view, which is a bit annoying. A click area to switch it on/off would be nice.
In VR I can move around to find my buttons but it's still a bit annoying.

However the few things I've seen, I really enjoyed. The aircraft didn't suffer from the flutters that I had experienced in MSFS2024 so it's a nice start :)
That being said, the aircraft did not maintain its pitch when flying at less than 300 knots. It was slowly pitching down.
But this is a minor issue to me, because the major strong point is that there is no deadzone on the pitch axis, which means I'll be able to practise the aerial refuelling with that bird :)

... after I set up the contact point, that is. So far Airshow Assistant does not recognize the YF-23 by default, so you have to set the contact point by yourself... and of course I realized this too late. This will be done for the next testing session.

Thanks, @Daube! As I posted yesterday in the ‘24 forum, the native 3024 version is now out and you can get it free. No ptch issues noted in my limited flying so far with that.

You mean mean that in MSFS2024, below 300 knots IAS (or 250, I don't remember), the aircraft does not slowly nose down at all ?

Nope, no nose down in 2024 with the native 2024 version. Slowed to 230, pointed my nose at the horizon, and kept a steady altitude/attitude.
