• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I don't think I've been incessant, and I think my criticisms, few and far between, have always been well-founded. I would never "bash" without ample reason to do so. A company that acquires a poorly-executed model, a so-called "B-25J", repackages it as quick as possible for MSFS to get the next flow of money as soon as possible... what do you expect the end result to be? All of us to be a bunch of fanboys, full of admiration? My respect for Aeroplane Heaven goes as far as the respect I've seen them show their products and the community at large. It's not worth offering helpful critiques, as when doing so you're only met by the response, "we model from accurate drawings".
On the contrary, on every release of AH, you've been bashing them. This needs to stop. And it will.

When you feel passionate about a certain aircraft, you always hope for a rendition that does it justice. Especially since warbirds, bar the seemingly obligatory Spitfires and Mustangs, are a niche market within a niche market. When you look at the detailed information that comes with the posts Bomber_12th makes, you can clearly see his passion for all things aviation. And sometimes, in the heat of that passion, you unintentionally choose wording that isn't intended to put the other in a bad light, but are perceived as such by (the) other person(s). And when one developer releases a rendition of an already niche plane, it lessens the chances of another developer doing that same aircraft (to the standard we personally think it should be done). So in that sense, I understand Bomber_12th posts. Having said that, Bazzar has repeatedly explained on these forums the business model and target audience of AH, and we have to respect that decision. Bomber_12th clearly isn't part of that target audience. In the end, companies offer us a product, and we each have to decide for ourselves if we take them up on that offer or not. That's the way our Western economy works.

So which of them is right? They both are, if you're willing to see matters from either perspective. I hope that at the SOH (and as human beings) we can agree to disagree. I always have found that guys can bash in each other's heads one moment, and five minutes later share a drink at the Cantina and let by-gones be by-gones. Otherwise we'll turn into those animals ... what they're called again? ... ah yes, women:a1089: .

And now back to some more wonderful screenshots:encouragement:

What I learned today: Hot rod t-props are not well-suited for short runways with high obstacles on approach! I bounced this thing hard one time, got it down the second time, got the props reversed, and still almost ran off the far end. I'll practice more later, but for now I think I'll stick to slower stuff coming here!Microsoft Flight Simulator Screenshot 2025.10.05 - 11.30.12.05.png

Somehow I completely overlooked this one, but what gem it is!

I was wondering the same thing!
So, you can turn on the flashlight/searchlight and point it out the canopy/window and it will illuminate the side of another object?

How did you get the CF-188 side light effect? I've always wished that was possible....

thx,

You can add a light in the systems.cfg, at a basic level you can just add a new landing light and point it out the side and more advanced you can specify a custom light effect to adjust the brightness and width and such
