How do I get Logitech hardware working in FS2024?

vipgroup

SOH-CM-2024
Even though I am a hardened FS2020 user, I am currently evaluating FS2024 (via Gamepass) for the first time, mainly due to the good reports regarding SU4.

However, I have not figured out how to get my Logitech radio hardware, and auto-pilot control hardware working. They work great with FS2020, but are not even noticed by FS2024.

I know there are videos on YouTube about it, but I would rather communicate with my trusted sim-outhouse community on getting them working.

  1. Did any of you have the same problem?
  2. What did you do (step by step) to get them working?
  3. And did anything you did to get them working in FS2024 screw it up for a concurrently-used FS2020?

Thanks folks!

I personally have not even attempted to use my Logitech panels in MSFS2024. I do know that the software Spad.Next has provided ways to use all.the Logitech panels, but it does require a learning curve, and I have yet to use it successfully.

I did read the following just now: "The available information focuses on the use of Logitech flight panels with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS2024), specifically regarding the need to manually install the Flight Instrument Panel driver (Flight_Instrument_Panel_x64_Drivers.exe) separately from the MSFS plugin (MSFS_Plugin_x64_Software_8.0.313.0.exe) and to manually start the LogiMicrosoftFlightSimulator.exe application before launching the simulator."

I will.add that until I read the above info, I had not heard of the "Flight_Instrument_Panel_x74_Drivers.exe. NC

I have the Logitech Radio Panel. First of all I downloaded the driver from the Logitech-website. After installing the driver, start MSFS2004 and then start the driver program (it creates a shortcut in your start menu). You will need to manually start it every time you start MSFS2024. Note: because MSFS2024 uses different radio frequencies (3 digits after the decimal point instead of the 2 digits used by FSX/P3D/MSFS2020), using the panel to tune the radio to the correct frequency isn't always possible (depends on the frequency). For that you'll need software like Spad.next (in that case you'll need to uninstall the Logitech-driver). However, I've had no problems using the other functions. I'm thinking about getting Spad.next myself.

As I don't have MSFS2020, I can't comment on any issues if you use both sims. The Logitech-driver itself is for both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. I assume there won't be any issues.

P.S: I just remembered I had to add an attribute to get it to work correctly. It's all explained in this YT-video. The guy's well-meaning but a bit long-winded, so you can skip to the 5-minute mark.

Many thanks for your answers. I am now about 90% sure that I will remain with FS2020 and leave FS2024 for another year.
Your choice, of course. But to push aside a 2024-simulator because you have to make some effort to use a bit of hardware that was first introduced in 2009 seems a bit strange to me:unsure:. Having said that, I don't know how heavily you have invested in MSFS2020 or if you have yet to purchase MSFS2024🍺.

Well, many thousands of dollars into hardware and software for FS2020 over the years. And, so far some of my most important addons do not work in 2024. I did a "Ben franklin" close sheet last night and found the scales were still very heavily on the FS2020 side for my personal requirements and priorities. So, my trial run on GamePass was cancelled today. I was curious about FS2024, but I am invested in FS2020. Personal choice indeed, and the right one for me at this time with no regrets. Should I decide to dip into it again, I will.

I use SPAD and do not even have the Logitech drivers installed. SPAD is a great program and works fine with the 3 Logitech controllers in FS2024. Yes, a bit of a learning curve, but everything new usually does, especially with FS2024.

Fair enough. I was just wondering because if/when you get MSFS2024 eventually, you still have to do what I described in my original post to get your panels working. That part will be the same whether you'll get MSFS2024 now or in one or two years. BTW, with Spad.next you can download profiles made by other users (check out e.g. Les O'Reilly on YT). So you don't even have to learn the intricacies of Spad.next if you only need it for the Logitech-panels.
