AvHistory 1% Aircraft General Statement and Installation Instructions
It is the intention of the AvHistory 1% project to over time build the most accurate aircraft that the CFS3 software can support. The development of a 1% aircraft requires specific and in many cases dramatic changes to the aircraft delivered with the MS game as well as the addition of aircraft built from the ground up by third parties which were never included in the original MS game. We believe that because the AvHistory 1% aircraft are materially different they should not be mixed with "box stock" aircraft in online combat.

P-47C-5 THUNDERBOLT
This aircraft was built by Gregory SARGE Pierson & Jerry SPARKS Beckwith using version 2.82.100 of the AvHistory 1% Assembly Line process. It is based on the stock MS P-47.
Dan Swart has painted the P-47C-5 as "MY TOVARISH" the aircraft of Lt Col Hubert "Hub" Zemke commander of the 56th Fighter Group one to most successful Fighter Groups in the ETO and became known as Zemke's Wolfpack.
The third ranking German fighter ace of World War II with 275 kills Gunther Rall, who later became a NATO general and architect of the new German Air Force had the unhappy privlege of being shot down by the Wolfpack.
As the swirling dogfight descended through clouds to the floor of the valley below, Rall found himself with no path of escape from the closing American fighters. Finally within firing range, two bursts of of fire from a P 47 hit Rall’s aircraft. Injured and with his Bf l09 damaged, Rall managed to pull into a half loop and bail out.

Col Zemke ended the war with a total of 20 kills. Zemke had been an instructor in Russia training Russian pilots to fly the Curtiss P-40. In honor of his friendship with the pilots he trained Zemke carried the words MY TOVARISH (My Friend) in Cyrillic letters on the fuselage in front of the wind screen of his P-47C.
The first P-47C (41-6066) was completed on September 14, 1942. Even though the P-47C incorporated strengthened tail surfaces, the P-47C still had problems in recovering from high-speed dives. Beyond 500 mph, recovery from power dives was extremely hazardous, with the elevators being unable to respond because of compressibility forces.
The first Thunderbolt to be considered truly combat-ready was the P-47C-2-RE. Perhaps the most important change introduced by this production block was the provision for shackles and a release mechanism for a bomb or a fuel tank on the underside of the belly. When carrying a 200-gallon fuel tank underneath the belly, the range was extended to 1250 miles at an altitude of 10,000 feet and a cruising speed of 231 mph.
The P-47C-5-RE introduced revised radio, instruments, and antenna. Cockpit heating was introduced.
