AvHistory 1% Aircraft General Statement and Installation Instructions
It is the intention of the AvHistory 1% project to over time build the most accurate aircraft that the CFS3 software can support. The development of a 1% aircraft requires specific and in many cases dramatic changes to the aircraft delivered with the MS game as well as the addition of aircraft built from the ground up by third parties which were never included in the original MS game. We believe that because the AvHistory 1% aircraft are materially different they should not be mixed with "box stock" aircraft in online combat.
All the planes 1% listed for download are qualified for use in our AvHistory William Tell Meet Air Combat Ladder. For information and to get the sign up sheet for the ladder please go to the LINKS section at http://www.avhistory.org

This aircraft was built by Ed Wilson using version 2.82.104 of the AvHistory 1% Assembly Line process. Marv Howell, Jerry Beckwith & Gregory Pierson also contributed to its construction. Please take the time to view Ed's readme for additional information & credits.
The outstanding "Big Beautiful Doll" paint was applied by our Master Painter Dan Swart.
The P-51D-25 Mustang tail number 44-72218 was the 192nd aircraft of a batch of 3000 P-51Ds ordered on 7th June 1944 just 24 hours after D-Day. With the call sign 472218, it was coded WZ-I while flown in the European Theatre of Operations and carried the nose art of Big Beautiful Doll. It was flown by Colonel John Landers Commanding Officer of the78th Fighter Group, who flew a series of P-38s and P-51s, all of which were named Big Beautiful Doll. Col Landers finished the war with 14.5 victories plus 20 additional ground victories. Its interesting to note that the top row of Kill markings are for 6 Japanese Aircraft as Col landeres flew in both in the PTO & ETO and was an ACE in both.
This is a major rework of the stock P-51D .
Features:
1. New virtual cockpit with excellent POV with good orientation. In other words you get a sense of being inside the cockpit, enough of the cockpit frame, fuselage, etc is visible to keep your orientation correct.
2. New instrument panel with accurate P51 gauges.
3. Rear view mirror, now you can watch your six by using the F6 key.
