Semi-Historical: This B-17 mission is based upon the first combat strike mission of the 447th Bomb Group, Eighth Army Air Force. On December 24th 1943 the 447th conducted Droinville noball #50. The mission objective was to destroy a V1 launch site in France. The 447th was a part of the Eighth Air Force mission 164, which was the largest mission to date and the first major strike of the launch sites.
