This folder contains a second repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of P-51D-20 44-14221 “Ridge Runner III”, flown by Maj Pierce McKennon's aircraft with the 4th FG. This is the 3rd version, which he flew between 19 March and 16 April 1945. On that day he was wounded by flak. The next day, the aircraft made an emergency landing, while being flown by another pilot and was damaged. McKennon received a 4th Ridge Runner after his return from hospital, while this aircraft was repaired and continued flying with the 4th FG as WD-I. More on Maj.
