F-51D, 55-11736, 12th FBS, 18th FBG, 5th AF, November 1950. The aircraft was flown by James Glessner and credited with a single aerial victory over a Soviet Yak. This would be the squadrons only kill until it transitioned to the F-86. Seventy-five gallon drop tanks were painted yellow, retrofited with grenade detonators, and used as napalm cannisters.
