This is a repaint for the A2A WoPII/WWII Fighters FSX update. To use this repaint you need to have the A2A WoPII/WWII Fighters aircraft installed on your machine. Originally formed in 1942 442 Sqn RCAF moved to the UK in February 1944 and flew Spitfire Mk.Vs and Mk.IXs. They provided low level fighter cover during the D-Day landings and moved into France on June 15 where they provided close air support to the ground troops. Having avoided being caught on the ground during the Luftwaffe's New Years attack on Allied airfields, it claimed 24 enemy aircraft destroyed during the attack. In March 1945 they returned to the UK and changed to Mustang Mk.IVs (the P-51D) flying as long range escorts to Bomber Command's Lancasters. The Squadron disbanded in August 1945.
