This repaint for A2A's WOP III P-47D represents the second HV-A P-47 of then Lt. Francis "Gabby" Gabreski of the 61st FS, 56th FG Halesworth, Endland late 1943. This aircraft was turned over to the 373 FG in early 1944 when gabby took reins of a "Bubbletop" P-47D-25 and was lost on August 15, 1944. Many thanks to Martin Catney for the fantastic repaint kit for A2A Simulations likewise excellent WoP III P-47 D, jankees here at SOH, and my modeling friend Lee Kolosna for providing links, info, color help, and backing on all these projects.
