Pacific Ghosts - A-20G The Helln Pelican II
The Hell'n Pelican II served with the 388 BS of the 312 BG. On April 16, 1944 it, along with a number of other USAAF aircraft, were lost to New Guinea weather - the day known as Black Sunday. In the 1980s the aircraft was recovered by the RAAF and has been restored. It is now stored at RAAF Base Amberley awaiting a suitable display hangar to be built in Port Moresby. Repaint of the FDG A-20G by Daniel Leahy using a template provided by Peter Haley.
