• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Akemi's KI-61 Hien "Shinbu-Tai" textures #1

This package includes a repaint only of the excellent freeware Ki-61 Hien model created by Akemi Mizoguchi.

You need the original aircraft that can be found at here in SOH library:

These textures depict a Ki-61 of "Shinbu-Tai" active in 1944/45.

"Shimbutai" is an special attack unit of IJA for the defense of homeland in 1944/45.

The photo of this plane was taken by US Marine corps photographer, Joe O'Donnell at Ashiya IJA airfield Aug 1945. It is reported that similar paintings was on the plane of Co. Nishino of 160th Shimbu-tai on local newspaper in Japan at that time. So I guess this plane was one of the plane of 159 or 160 Shimbutai and with some reason, left at Ashiya on the way to Chiran. It was confirmed they were stayed over night at Ashiya on the way to Chiran.

Base textures were originally created by UncleTgt. Thank you very much UncleTgt for his excellent repaints and giving me a permission to modify it and use as a base texture.

Also, thanks to Akemi for a great aircraft.
